The 3L80 “Turbo 400” is an excellent trans and very strong as it is. If you want better street driving as well as a good off-road option it may be time to step up to an overdrive trans (700R4 or 4L80) both have their own pros and cons

Easy repair with the HH66 glue you can get online. I think the patches I have are 12x24 or something I can’t remember

Wow that’s a long haul for sure-I hope you got a good one. Seems like I bid on that one too. Air drops are definitely interesting cabs. Big pain to knock them down so I doubt you’ll want to do that very often. Also check the cab good for rust, a lot of these Bragg A/D cabs are pretty rusty. Good...
1088 is the tractor version of the FMTV. If the cover fits a 1093, it will not fit a 1082 trailer, if it fits a 1078 (LMTV) it will fit a 1082 trailer. I hope this helps
I know I would love to have the payloader, but way too far away I have a 1084, and they are great trucks. You can start it with only two batteries, I would either really lowball all of it (barely above scrap) or somehow hear them all run. If I still lived in NY I'd love to come help you...
Looks like they just did a front cover-you will need to check the air compressor/power steering pump mounting and consider the drive shafts suspect as they don't look to have been replaced. Those are the two leading causes of the front cover cracking (the only reason it was replaced most...
