The USMC upgraded their M809 series fleet to 1400 from the 1100s. I have one of those trucks and I did not take it for a long ride before I stripped it down, but it wasn't bad on the 5 mile test runs I did. M813RC has more experience with them then I do.
Finally found a photo. Had the M915 since around 1995ish and did a frame off restoration on it and it entered its first show in 1999 at the MVPA Convention in Tobyhanna. It does have the 16 Speed Cat and I do not see what everyone dislikes about it. Took this photo in 2017 while heading to...
Very nice work. I don't think I could make that work though because my truck has the winch controls in that spot.
Here is Jericho's build. Great work, however it is for an M939 series trucks

Nice looking jeep, any photos of your dataplate?
The vent on the cowl is standard on any vehicles that have had a heater added. Not an uncommon mod.
The marker lights on the side of the body were usually added up by the turn signal, I have not seen any in that spot.
That is what I was afraid of. I looked into an M915A2 but did not think it could mange the speed the M915 w/7155 Cat managed. Any idea if the M915A4s are any better? Do those still have the HT740 (4 speed?) or do they have the Allison 7 Speed?
Any idea where their components like their ISO beds and other parts went? Recovry4x4's other photos show they had quite a few trucks they were going to convert before the contract flopped, I wonder where they went.
