M818 PTO seals and boots replacment

Bolt holes all go through; fully tapped. So yes, sealing the bolt threads is important.

M818 PTO seals and boots replacment

For dimensions and seal part numbers (various brands), see this post... (Usually I put double-lip seals wherever possible.)

    Deuce clutch replacement

You don't have to...! Actually, any small wedge-shaped wood pieces will work. Just fit them in there loosely while the bolts are still tightened. Once you start unscrewing, the wedges will prevent the fingers from raising, thus absorbing/releasing all tension out of the assembly. That way the...

    Leaky PTO Woes

So what was the cause (of that oil leak)? Assuming it has been fixed and tested good, since you don't mention anything in your ad??

    Referral David Abas

No special requirements - just tell him to read the rules and then register; it's free.

    Ramsey PTO identification

Interesting finding! I didn't know such even existed. Just learned some more, today...thank you! Same purpose and function as the P-136-C but different construction, obviously.

    Leaky PTO Woes

Assuming it is the front output shaft - and the oil comes out between the shaft and the bearing cap (?), something is wrong with the oil seal, like damaged during install or incorrect size. Easier then pulling the whole unit; just remove the output flange and then the bearing cap/ seal carrier...

    E rated mtr's

No. Whatever style RFs you got they will work on either wheel.

    E rated mtr's

They do fit. But the max. allowed air pressures don't match: E-rated tires are 65psi cold, but the 12-bolt wheels are only good for max. 50psi tire pressure. (= Load range D).

    Deuce Transmission Removal Crossbar

Well, you seem to have chosen the most difficult-impossible route for your task? Usually, both transmission tunnel(covers) are the first thing to remove when you plan to pull the transmission. Second, you unbolt that jack-shaft at the output flange side and leave it hanging down. 3rd, shift the...

    What was I thinking?!?!?

Congrats to your acquisition - a real classic, and it's even a winch truck! Hard to tell (from your downsized pic) what it's real condition is, but overall it looks good enough to me, to be worth saving. Everything on it can still be restored, I'd say to as-good-as-new condition. It only...

Goodyear vs Michelin Beadlocks...why the caution in the -14 Tire tm?

First time I ever hear about brand-specific beadlocks....:-? As a general rule, it doesn't seem to make much sense. At least there are known exceptions: For example, this same beadlock (#12414420; NSN 2530-01-370-5462)...... .... comes factory-installed on the FMTV wheels, equipped with...
