1) The diameter of the flat surface on the inside seems to be 13.5", which would be acceptable for a typical 5-ton hub. (You will have to confirm both dimensions since I don't have either one at hand, here.)
2) Re-drilling to 10-on-11.25" is possible but on four of the ten holes the chamfered...

Yes, it works.... but as well as oil-in-water emulsions? Keep in mind, the specific heat of water/water based cutting fluids more than doubles the value for plain mineral oils - like your WMO. Also the boiling point of water is much lower, and for the same volume of fluid it takes more heat to...

I think that the change was made sometime between 1976 and 1981. Earlier trucks may have been upgraded during depot rebuild.
The mounts ARE the same for both versions, as Evil Dr. Porkchop already said. The only thing you prob. don't have are those two inner brackets....
I only had this one truck for a short time. Got the winch and PTO, rebuilt them both and then made the conversion. Cut the original bumper to create...

All 60 kits (total of 4 lots, that day) were bought by the same GL-customer (#77000960). And a week later there were another 4 lots; 52 kits in...

Really, the manufacturer AKA "Bulldogger"...
... That should not happen really, because OEM (correct) nuts are hardened.
Try with a regular file; if it grabs and actually removes material, discard those nuts and get the good ones.

Not a problem.
Good; that means you (or a machinist) can still modify them for the correct chamfer. Not a big deal - if you have the right tool.
And to keep this simple, even a conical (non-spherical) seat at 55° taper would do.
