That's the first I've seen of that machine...and it looks really nice too:beer:
But I honestly haven't seen anything close to the lines this V100 project will have...and I think the several months of computer aided 3d modeling put into it has really paid off8-)
Just about all legal transfers usually take place between parties of privately owned V100s and folks with the money to buy them. There are a few places that has them listed from time to time, so they are available.
Now and then when items come up for sale from local agencies, there is a good...
Here's the custom wheels I talked about building. A lot of work! The two piece HEMTT wheels that had the centers waterjet cut needed additional machining in order to get them to run concentric.
Thanks guys8-)
Here's the frames welded in, the glass is on order and about 4 weeks out. You can see the paint ground off in select areas on the front...there's a major design change going there ;)
When I get most of the mod work done, I will go back and blast the vehicle and get a nice coat of...
Preparation for visibility improvements. I verify all the modifications on the computer before I start cutting...with a vehicle like this, you only get one shot.
We use this type product for all our floor mat applications. Looks great, easy on the knees, and allows full ventilation of the floor. (no trapped water to cause problems)
WEARWELL® Worksafe™ Drainage Mat, 3'W x 5'L, 60340 - Lab Safety Supply
Thanks Danger Ranger :D
The next time you guys see this part of the V100, it will look quite different. This area will be the target of the next modification, and it looks really nice on the computer right now. Metal is already being cut, and prep work is already being performed. I will keep you...
I was fortunate enough to have him drop in (unannounced) to the shop and look at the vehicles we've done...then he gave me a copy of his book and autographed it. I'm really grateful8)
I got a chance to meet and talk with Tom A Johnson, A Vietnam chopper pilot who wrote a book called "To the Limit". Really an interesting guy and regrettably agent orange is finally taking it's toll on him. Glad to have been able to shake his hand
"Tom A. Johnson flew the UH-1 “Iroquois” —...
Hello Rory,
We've been working quite a bit on the computer for this project, more specifically on the front and top. Recessed lights, winch relocation and a lights bar mount are among the current tasks.
As far as the tunnel goes, it looks really nice and gets back a few inches here and...
Actually ownership and possession are two entirely different things. The DOD 1033 program allows qualified agencies to possess certain surplus DOD equipment, according to the terms of the DOD 1033 program. All equipment under this program is basically loaned to the receiving agency and must...
The winch is PTO pump driven and the steering has a belt driven pump. The steering gear info is from the service manual, p12 in the 'Tabulated Data' section
Thanks Jeff. I'm not using the hydraulic winch on this one but I am curious what pressures/volumes are needed for the steering so I can see if I can match the capabilities of the pump with another pump, which hopefully will also match what I need to operate the F550 hydrobooster.
Does anyone know what pressure the hydraulic circuit for power steering and the winch runs at on the V100? I'm trying to see if the pump mounted on the 2006 5.9 cummins will work for this.
