There are always exceptions! This one looks white though.rofl
I think these may actually belong to Border Patrol.
The simple answers to the original question are -
Black wheels from the factory
Black according to the official 383 camo manual
Individual units - whatever they applied, as noted...
We bow respectfully again in your general direction, one - because you know how to do whatever it is you are doing; and two - because you are doing it for that fabulous salary we pay you. [thumbzup]
Cheers
As always, some great vehicles here, but have to stick with a fellow club member! Besides that, I have seen his jeep in person, and it is indeed beautiful.

These and the MRAP trainers are made out of thick steel, but not armour, so they are "just trucks" as far as surplus is concerned. Most have stencils on them saying they are not armour and are for "Training Use Only".
When I was working with the Army at Ft Irwin ten odd years ago, there were a...
Those were cool planes. Glad I got to see, and hear (strange sounding plane) them flying, including an airshow demonstration.
I remember back in the day, in the serious aviation journals there was much discussion of the possibility that the US was developing a "radar invisible" aircraft, and...
The basic answer is that there is no military-wide standard, they were applied by units, or individuals within units, as they saw fit. Hand painted or stenciled, depending on how fancy/same folks wanted them.
Kill/mission marks have been applied on everything from individual weapons to...
One thing for Texans to keep in mind - if you are running preserved military registration, you may NOT use the truck to carry your personal stuff around legally, unless you are going to a show and the gear is part of the show.
An example - a guy nearby got stopped recently driving down the...
South Korea. It is a very effective scheme there.
When the US switched to 383, it was for camo commonality with NATO rather than lack of effectiveness of the MERDEC.

Airbornebandsman built that one for himself, but passed it on to me when he bought a tractor. He did a very good job of it, well thought out and executed. There is a thread of his build on SS somewhere.
I use it to shunt trailers around, or I can haul the M146 with the M813 (which...
Nice! Wish it was me.
I have a couple of the 1082s, they are great trailers. Love to have one of these, but if they've come up for sale close by, I missed them.
Cheers
Thanks! It had 29,247 original miles on the clock when I got it, and included maintenance paperwork to prove it. It was screened by a fire department, rather than auctioned, so they got some log books with it. But they never did anything with the truck, fortunately, it just sat until they...
When people are unfamiliar with M105s, I like to share this picture of my Tahoe parked next to one of my M105s to give a better understanding. :)
M1101/2 trailers are actually pretty big too. Picture of my M1102 next to the same old Tahoe (taken 11 years later).
The only apparent difference...
Just for clarity - all M1028A2/A3s were converted from M1028/A1/M1031. None of those duallys came from the factory for the military.
I have seen a few with that style bed. If I didn't use mine to pull the S788 5th-wheel trailer, I'd happily swap that bed onto my 1028A2!
Not sure about the...
Nathan, if you're willing, a lot of us folks who just use phones to make calls would be very interested in seeing your project here. ;)
Also, this board is a longstanding one, and a good place to carry the history of your work into the coming years (I have no idea what instagram is, or how...
