Are you shutting down or is truck dying after 10 minutes? Will it start multiple times while cold?

I have never seen a o-ring used for the pump drive housing gasket. I would think the rubber would split when compressed when you tighten pump housing. Maybe not, but would like to know if the o-ring works. I would make one with gasket material first. Good Luck
