That is why I added the "alternative fuel' in there. I think what a lot of people are calling bio-diesel is actually just veggie oil mixed with diesel or even WMO mixed with diesel. Which is FAR from BIO by the way.
I think once you get a couple warmer days to slosh stuff around and move it through you will be alright. I never saw a 6.2 make any more power on bio or any other alternative fuel, always less and they really could not afford to make less. I guess if you are running many thousands of miles you...
From our all time resident M-151 expert, Ken the Mutt guru in England.
Hello Rick,
The first M151 vehicles were built under two contracts with Ford Motor Co. As you already know, Ford started work on the "new 1/4-ton" in 1952, resulting in the M151 being classified for production in...
You are correct on the body makers and I stand corrected on the previous post. I will have to confer with Ken in England and get some data on the numbers of vehicles that each of these companies made.
I am an old fart and still don't know it all.:-D
Willys never made the 151, the early 151's were all made by Ford and Kaiser. Not Kaiser-Jeep. The 151 has no affiliation with the Jeep, hence the horizontal grill. It was made that way due to a patent by Jeep on the vertical grille. Ford was the main supplier of the 151 with some built by Kaiser...
Contrary to popular belief not all diesel engines will run good on bio-diesel. Small truck diesels are designed for regular diesel fuel and there is little room for error there. The dynamics are totally different on a large engine. I have never really heard all that much good from running bio in...
Angus, you may be right, I am tired and grumpy. The parades around my area just have not been much to look at anymore and that just might spice it up. Forget I even mentioned it.
Rick
The vet's parade may be pushing it. The last thing a vet wants to see at a remembrance is a hot rodded vehicle that he may have flashbacks from. Keep the parade vehicles in stock form. Don't get me wrong, I love that truck, I am not crazy about bobbers but I am also a Vietnam vet and I know what...
That is joking, not scolding. I would suggest that with only five posts that you hang around for a while and learn the language before posting something like that.
Because of the volume of engines you are buying I am sure you are buying on contract. They can sell them to you a little cheaper because they know they will sell, say, 100 engines guaranteed.
They do not advertise the better lines of engines because they are the ones that go to their contract...
It is entirely possible thatd due to the large volume that you buy you get engines from a different batch, a higher grade let's say, than the average guy on the street. I am guessing that same engine would cost more than what is offered normally. Every company has their top line and their...
There is also a filter at the inlet to the injection pump. It should never get clogged because of the regular filter but I have had it happen. If you continue to get air replace all of the rubber lines whether they look bad or not, actually they should be replaced anyway if it has never been...
I agree with Dangier, If it is constantly shutting off on safety then you are playing with fire, Literally. I would verify that it is shutting off on the thermostat and if it is not then find the reason before you damage the unit beyond economical repair, or worse.
The lifter does not sit perfectly centered on the cam, it sits off center just a bit so that when it is running it will rotate a little every time it raises an lowers. If you had a valve stick tight it could have put enough force on the lifter to break it off due to it running off center and not...
The 7.3 would have been way to heavy for the front end of a Bronco. I would have liked to have seen the redesign on that. That or the Cummins powered Ramcharger would be big time driveline destroyers. You would basically have to put one ton drivelines under either one.
That was a really sweet deal! Mine came with all of the external parts packaged around the engine. I took them out and stored them inside. The motor is even filled with oil, ready to go. I don't think I would use that oil though.
