Chains would help. They have open differentials. Lockers are an option that is available. I wouldn't use stock tires unless great tread and were aired down, without chains. No stock power steering. Would suggest weight in the bed. Bobbed would improve turn radius, loose a drive axle...

Is the "heat protector" made of soft metal? Brass? Bronze? Copper? what about a simple "easy out" to get it rotating in the bore, then an internal slide hammer attachment to pull straight out? It doesn't appear to be threaded from the IPB, so soak with lube/penetrating oil and pull?
