Very safe! Just used this method to change a tire today with an M1101 that has a 1300 lb MEP003a running in the back. It is very stable as I was jumping in and out of the trailer changing a leaking fuel line.
Even though the tire pressure marking is 17psi, I pump them up to 30psi for smoother riding at highway speeds. You have to actually check the pressure - don't rely on a visual inspection because with the run-flats in the tires, they may not look low. I have had a couple of tires at ~5psi when...
Have you added any fuel recently? If so, pumping it into the pod may have emulsified the water that was in the new fuel. The emulsion layer would be on top or beside the water and below the fuel.
Great News! I think any way to get these vehicles in the hands of the public and returning value to the taxpayers above scrap prices is a good thing. I hated seeing complete running HMMWVs driven onto flatbeds headed to the scrapyards. Prices should come down as more are sold, even with the...
While I deny all charges of domestic violence, there might have been some firm shoving between me and my wife over the last piece. After the yelling died down, cooler minds prevailed and we cut it in half (but my half was bigger ).
Since you're new to the site, do a search on "recovery", "recoveries" and you should get a number of threads about tool and supply lists, as well as some indication of what can go wrong. When you start off, I'd stop after 5-10 miles to do a walk-around inspection with a IR heat gun, and the...
I applaud your use of the Federal Surplus system to get good equipment at minimal costs. With a population of only 1000, your property taxes should be high, but I see that your tax rate is among the lower NH rates. Good Job keeping down the costs!
You might want to reconsider a ground rod at the generator. A consensus of previous discussions would be to ground the generator and trailer to the house ground rod.
When everything is new, not everything sticks the first time thru. I saw the lever and read the TM, but over time had forgotten all that when I actually needed to use it months later. The next day, I kicked myself in the rear for not remembering.
I thought my dash switch was broke when I switched tanks. Fortunately, my fuel gauge was broke, so I looked into the tanks before I ran out of fuel. When I re-read the TM, I found what I had read and forgot about the floor tank valve.
I now have one truck that will only suck from the right...
WOW, it's bad enough to only get 3mpg, but you're paying 23% more than I am for the fuel. I guess 3.92/gal is cheap compared to Alaska fuel prices, but I'm only paying 3.17/gal and I'm complaining it should be lower to match the gasoline price drop.
You need to drop the MK trailer and pick up...
My fuel tank filter setup
I only have a 250 gal elevated tank (which empties quick when filling up the 2 M931 tanks ), but still use a 12v pump to push the fuel through the filters. I also use the same pump and filters to pump from drums to the tank. By the time the fuel reaches the...
