The batteries in my truck now just barely turn my engine over. I have a solargizer installed too. I'm picking up a pair of 6TL batteries from Napa on Friday. The part number is 7256 if anyone is interested. The cost is $214 each without the core charge.
I'm thinking of driving up early Saturday in my M35 bobber. I would be leaving in the early evening as I don't own any camping gear. I've never driven my MV on an interstate before. Kind of wondering what driving at 50mph tops on a highway with much faster vehicles will be like. Turbo what are...
I'm thinking of driving there early Saturday morning from Phillipsburg in my 1984 AM General M35 bobber. I don't own any camping gear, so I'll probably leave in the late afternoon. Can I get there from old Rt. 22W? I'm a bit concerned as a Newbie about driving down Rt. 78 by myself at 50mph...
I think I will still have weekends off in October. I've never been 4 wheeling in my life and I'd like to try my bobber out on a "bunny slope" sort of trail first. No deep mud, water, or boulders. Call me a wuss. Do they have trails for wusses?
My bobbed Deuce weighed in at 11,440 on a certified truck scale. It's a drop side. The axle weights were 6200 front and 5240 rear. The folks that bobbed it used front axle springs at the rear. I'm thinking of buying an extra upper leaf or two from a front spring pair and inserting them into the...
I own a bobbed Deuce. He's actually a foot or so shorter than many full size pickups with an eight foot bed. Bobs are very easy to maneuver around town and on narrow country roads. My advice would be to put on your grubbies and crawl under your prospective purchase with a flash light. You can...
Kenny,
Your solution sounds interesting. Could you provide me with a short description of how you used the cup? Did you leave the cut down cup in place after the hose went on?
Thanks, Owen
Thanks Splinter. I did the same. Sandblasted and painted the glove box while I had it out too. I should have used some form of lubricant. I still have to do the driver's side hose.
Hi everyone. I finally attached the mil-type hose from my heater box to my passenger side defroster nozzle yesterday. I had a helluva time getting the stock 3" hose over it. I got it about 75% on and called it quits. Is there some secret tip to getting these hoses to go on more easily?
Sounds a lot like my Deuce. I also get a tiny amount of smoke when starting or idling. I think that's normal. I believe the TM also recommends a five minute cool down for the turbo prior to shutdown.
I usually pull the hand throttle out about four clicks just before starting. My engine starts right up and goes to about 1,000 rpm with the hand throttle in that position. I let the engine run for a minute or two at that rpm and then I push the hand throttle in. After that it idles really well...
I had that problem too until I installed a "matched" pressure gauge and sender combination. There's a 60 psi sender for the 0-60 gauge and a 0-120 sender that works with the 0-120 pressure gauge. You have to make sure you have the correct pair. There is an oil pressure regulator on the block...
Drive one. They are slow. They are crude. They shake and rattle a lot. Did I mention loud? Zero creature comforts. However, when you drive a deuce it will almost always result in a wide smile on your face. 100% truck. And you'll always have a legion of really cool SS folks willing to help you out.
Finally finished installing my new turbo. My test drive in the rain was a success. Especially since my driver's side air wiper decided to work for a change. Not so much for the passenger side.
