What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Is there any audible or other perceptible indication that the DFW system is working when you flip the valve?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I must have missed earlier posts. What is this for? This is going on your 939 series truck?

    Broken starter bolts

The hook "inside" the motor mount is what I'm looking for? In the photo it doesn't look like anything is hung from the hook. Should there be?

    Broken starter bolts

Is there a bulletin or notice I can read about this starter bolt issue that i can read somewhere? How can i tell if my truck has this hook mod?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Took the M813 out for an hour long maintenance jog. My voltage regulator is occasionally wonky. This time, it was pushing the red zone while warming up but never quite exceeded the green zone. After about 10 minutes, it settled down in that narrow "optimum" band in the green zone. It's...

    Humvee service in Maryland

I would help with a like-for-like power train replacement but I'd be in over my head doing a Duramax conversion or other such nonsense. I'm a computer network engineer. You need RetiredWarhorses or someone for that business.

Oh- I scored a jack for a good price. I'll pick it up on Monday. I have roadside assistance and towing but I've never liked driving around without a jack and a spare. We got a great truck but it was practically naked and missing all the gubbin's. Rounding up all these bits takes time and patience.

What batteties are recomended for use in the 5 tons and deuces?

The Hawkers are AGM's. You can buy ordinary flooded lead acid in that form factor for less money but they won't last nearly as long.

    Humvee service in Maryland

@Jeffreystein1 @dimi1970 Guys, look down at your hands. That's your mechanic. I'm near Annapolis. I am by no means an expert but I've run through most of the basic PMCS on the M998 and I have lots of large tools since I also own a 5-ton. I've repacked CV axles, purged and flushed my...

@Daves86 Ah, at last! Good photos of the sensor cup. My truck appears to have all fording components in place except for the intake stack, exhaust and sensor cup. The hose leading to the sensor cup is still in place. Now I know how it installs and what it looks like.

What have you done to your HEMTT/PLS/MK48 this week

That thing is so cool. I only imagine the nonsense you could get into with a rig like that. I'd be terrified to maintain it though.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I'd finally had enough of leaves and trash blowing into the cab underneath the 2-man canvas curtain. I obtained a 2-man cargo partition this weekend for a fair price and met a nice forum member. I'm looking forward to painting this thing up and sealing out the water and debris (as much as a...

No, they were recommended to me by another forum member. I haven't ordered from them yet but I planned to.

Bravo dude, love it. Fellow M813 owner here.

Best source for Torque Rod Ends?

Registering a 5 ton in Maine

Oh Lord, not this again with the Nat'l Safety Standards. Maryland is trying to do this as well. MIL-STD-1108B is the equivalent military document to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards... ...not that this helps you. That's an argument to make in your state legislature. Hopefully someone...
