Ah, here it is. How much material did you remove from the slug wrench? You used a chop saw?!? What kind of blade? I have a chop saw but I can't conceive of a blade that could handle that.
Edit- ...and nevermind. I found what I needed. Just had to re-read the entire thread.
Ok, so I need to...
So I took "Sluggo" my new, 2-1/4" slug wrench down to the truck just to test access to all the torque rod bolts.
There are some fit issues with the upper torque rods near the leaf spring assemblies. If I recall, did some people grind down brand new slug wrenches to achieve the necessary...
I managed to score an offset striking wrench for only $60 last week. I figured by the time I paid shipping and a courtesy deposit to borrow a wrench I'd be into it for almost the same amount so I just bought my own.
@vvwilkins @74M35A2 Using a 20-ton press, how many tons of pressure did it...
I stole my wife's HMMWV to drive to work this morning. The weather is gorgeous after a ton of rain, so I couldn't resist.
There is a parallel route to the highway that is all secondary roads so I can take it easy on the engine. With the pandemic on, there was virtually no traffic for 25 miles...
Wow, that guy had 2 faux pas- The aftermarket key switch AND the push button light switch. Talk about courting drama.
Well, that video was all I needed to see to be convinced that I'm not making these mods.
Ah, ok. If you removed the interlink cable then parasitic shorts should not be able to drain the battery. It sounds like they simply self-discharged over the year.
When they sit that way, the battery plates sulfate and they are more or less ruined.
There are various methods described on the...
People really give electrical systems low priority on their vehicles...until it finally kills the vehicle.
It sounds like you have a lot of sorting out to do. You can start by checking the voltage at the batteries once you get the truck running.
If the voltage is around 24v, the batteries are...
Awesome, thanks. This part seems familiar to me from past excursions into the engine bay. I'll pop the hood this afternoon or weekend and check for those parts.
Then, I'll need to pull the doghouse off and check to see if the valve/switch in the cab is actually connected to anything. It...
This whole conversation is why I just did what Wes says, and ran the cheap, green coolant. It won't last as long, but it's safe.
I bought gallon jugs of Fleetguard DCA4 here: https://shop.moderngroup.com/dca70l-chemicals-dca4-liq/
Yes, it was annoying to have to wait for it in the mail but I...
Ah, I suspect that's your problem. That's actually too high. If you can get your face really close to the window, you'll see that near the top of the window is the "hot" level. The "cold" level is a fair bit below that. The marks are difficult to see on the sight glass.
When I bought my...
I hear you. You're close, though. 185F instead of 190F. See what happens during the summer. I'll bet you get to 195F or so. Do @REF 's cardboard test and see what happens.
In the depth of a really cold winter, you might run around with a 1/2 cardboard blocker to keep the temp up a little bit...
That's an excellent idea. It might also lend proof to the idea that his fan is freewheeling a little faster than the rest of us by reducing the airflow.
