24 is just a number.
What will mess with your head is the lack of color-coding and the need to located and clean all the tiny metal tags so that you can identify the wires and circuits. The wiring diagrams are not outstanding but they are adequate if you can get a clear copy of them.
I sent you a PM to get the conversation started. You'll see a red "1" on the little envelope at the top right corner of the web page.
I just noticed you're in NC. There's a good possibility that you can just come to Maryland and pick this thing up. It'll save you the costs of freight and me the...
Hm. I may be able to help with that. I still have my old transfer. It shifted fine but the output bearings were shot for the intermediate shaft. I believe the oil drained clean and without metal bits.
PM me if you want to discuss it.
Yumpin' Yiminey bro!
Well, you have 3 options-
Rebuild it yourself.
Pay a commercial truck shop to rebuild it.
Buy a replacement.
People sell used takeouts all the time but of course that's a gamble. I bought a rebuilt unit still in the shipping can but that fellow retired and sold his...
Awhile back I mentioned that my driver's rear tire was wearing oddly on the outside edge, chewing it up. You all recommended that I check the toe-out IAW the 20-2.
I checked everything. I did the "grasp and shake" tests. Spindle bearings, control arm bushings, radius arms are all very snug. No...
I agree, quietest with doors off. I think hard doors will echo interior noises, making them worse unless you mitigate with metric buttloads of sound dampening material inside the doors, doghouse, tunnel and floorpan.
Owners have done it and reported positive results, it just take a lot of material.
I've found the transfer case to be a bit grumpy to shift, especially if left sitting for long periods.
Squirt some "liquid persuader" on the shift plunger, move the truck forward or backwards a few feet and try again. I know you said the plunger moves but it sounds to me like you're not...
I'm doing the same thing that Wes suggested- Two Group 31 truck batteries. If you keep them topped off, there are no issues. I want to get some NAPA 6TL's just for fun but they are pricey. I've heard you can get them for less if you can coordinate a group buy with more people.
Coug, have you actually done this?
I hate to be thick-headed but I'm still trying to understand exactly where to run the dang string. In the link you posted, I could actually just wrap a single string around the entire vehicle, passing across the centerline of each tire and just clamp the...
Ah-ha... I have discovered that my stop lights don't come on without pressing the pedal pretty hard. I wonder how long I've been screwing up the people following me when I stop the truck? I feel guilty about that.
I found the stop light switch adjustment procedure and even the PS...
