Fair Radio Sales in Lima OH - going out of business - FOREVER

many thanks for the pics, I've gotten their catalog off and on since about 1968? I'm really discouraged to see them stop and if only someone could walk in there and carry on. I saw a R-390 in there (i thought they were gone) ....... i will buy some ms116 antenna sections while they are...

    Stolen Radio!

that's rough! what's even worse is the low life who took it hasn't got a clue what to do with it, it may end up in a pawn shop, hope you check that? also could be offered to a survivalist group? i hope you get it back and you get a chance to deal with the dirt bag.

    diesel in crankcase

I have to say that is not the case as I believe the engine managed to rotate 3 times by my best judgement, so possibly two pistons never made it thru the compression stroke but 4 did so no, besides, it has sat for two years, maybe 3! I'd like to think any diesel in the cylinder dripped out in...

    diesel in crankcase

here is the obituary for my truck ...... at least for now......... but first, ericp351 it was great reading your stuff, I never made it to gibraltar, just the canary is. The truck is very difficult to rotate, i got the fuel pump refreshed & calibrated, put 4,000 amps to the starter and got...

    diesel in crankcase

on the tm diagrams the compressor and FO pump housing have "plug, pipe" on the bottom though it isn't clear what the purpose is! I just ass-sumed i'd be able to drain the air compressor housing, that or i will suck the contaminated oil out of there as it has to have a bit of 'resevour' in...

    diesel in crankcase

will send pics when i get another batch. I have done injectors on cat, emd, detroit and something else so i'll persevere with this as well. yes, I am sort of guessing but as it is cold iron I only have the owners story to go by. So, I'll get a good fuel pump in there and then prep the...

    diesel in crankcase

It hasn't run for 2 years and i suspect it may be 2-1/2. owner says he did not see the stack smoking anything unusual, (black or white) when the engine shut down and by description was running out of fuel? I have not heard this run. I failed to look in the radiator for oil when I was there...

    diesel in crankcase

thanks for that, it's mid winter and contemplating getting batteries in there, purge the fuel system, drain the air compressor case and oil filters and on and on before cranking to watch for leaks under the valve cover ............... well............ i'll do the pump as you say. we have a...

    diesel in crankcase

good, have a fresh foot of snow here this morning, I plan on going over there wed/thur and was thinking of removing a valve cover (hot engine end) and having a look at the 'O' rings on a couple 2 or 3 injectors. Is this plausible or should I just wait till I rotate the engine and observe...

    diesel in crankcase

great, got it, much thx, I would of missed that half moon up against the block. the hammer and vice grips was a joke !! I was wondering if there was a hex, (allen) on the shaft to the airpump somewhere though I couldn't figure out how it'd be. (or why)

    diesel in crankcase

The local military store (125 miles out) has a guy who rebuilds the FO pump for the NHC250 cummins so i am heading over there this coming week to remove it. I was hoping one of you may know what 'special' tools I may need other than end wrenches, tubing wrenches, hammers and vice grips!, I...

I think you've probably spent more time on big iron that I have. Always had respect for school education, I hawespiped it. I think the biggest generators I worked were about 850kw. except for some RR fleet gas turbine and chevron i was all electric. here's a couple pics of my issue...
