I was thinking of cobbling it but the new one allows me to make it somewhat longer on both arms. As long as it doesn't bind it would give a more accurate reading. If I take out the filler neck I can reach in and check whether there is free movement.
I picked up my new Amazon fuel level sender. It is identical to the original except that it is longer. It can be adjusted to fit quite easily. It comes with 3/16 half inch bolts that in my opinion are better than the Philips head original screws. There are no nuts on the backside like the...
Boatman now that you have convinced me to use the brass fitting I'm not sure how to remove the filler tube. The TM says remove bolt 23 and the drawing seems to indicate they are the 6 bolts surrounding the opening. There is no access to the nuts on the underside of the flange. There are 2...
I haven't had a need to use the auxiliary pump. I think I will fill the tank with it periodically from a 5 gallon can so I know it works and I can use it as the primary pump replacement if I get a pump failure since they seem to be hard to source.
Guyfang I took some photos from the FRONT of the unit showing the auxiliary pump plus one of the primary pump. If they put the wrong auxiliary pump in they sure did a professional looking job
Hi, My mep803A is a 2006 that had 15 original hours on it when I won it. As far as I can see it has never had any parts replaced. I have the rear panel off to troubleshoot fuel sensor problems and the auxiliary fuel pump and primary fuel pump both have the same numbers E1074.
NATCAD if you are in the Toronto area I can give you my membership info at the warehouse I ship to if you want to ship something there. The cost to ship to Canada is usually outrageous. I usually go pick stuff up every 3 or 4 weeks.
Hi, my buddy is a mechanic so I buy the run of the mill stuff at the local auto parts store under his discount. For parts that are specific to the generator Ebay is your best bet. I ship to a warehouse in Niagara Falls NY and go pick up stuff when it accumulates and it is worth the trip. Also...
Zarathustra, I am happy to see you back I have learned a lot from your posts. I figured out the no fuel issue and set the sensor to 1/16 off the bottom which fixed that problem. I had all the fuel sender gasket holes lined up and installed it properly but there is a metal ring in the new tanks...
Also there is a very good post about removing the sender. You have to take it apart to install it without bending it.
I haven't received my sender yet and will be at my camp for an extended period so I can't verify if it is the right sender but the specs are the same and it looks identical.
I hope it works for you. I did the same thing. Checked the ohm reading and it was fine and reinstalled it. It worked well for awhile but then it started to do the same erratic readings. This is a fantastic site. I searched the NSN on Google and it came back to a post on here from about a year...
The fuses are way overpriced. My 2006 803A didn't have the fuse mod. I got the proper fuse holder and fuses on Ebay. Not the exact fuse but 3.6 slow blow. I assumed it would work and the price was right.
