M1009 starts, runs like 5 seconds and dies.

I had this problem for a long time. My problem was an air leak from the water/fuel sensor behind the filter. I plan to upgrade to a spin on setup, but my money is going into a different truck right now. I was able to fix the issue by simply removing the sensor, cleaning the base with brake...

Thanks wreckerman. I have sent an email that, I think, respectfully expresses my disappointment. I hope to her from him tomorrow. If there is no compromise offered, I will be exploring other avenues.

I would just get a whole new setup from fleabay, they range from $40-60 I think.

Is it an old unit? Solar panels have a shelf life. After about twenty years they often need to be replaced.

Great news and great help here. I will get it apart as soon as I can. Again, thank you gentlemen.

I thank all of you for the help. So, are the parts required to fix this readily available?

I hope to get started tearing it down tomorrow. But bringing the daughter to Legoland is also on the schedule. At the very least I hope to come home with a cool lego MV. For the kid of course.

You cleaned all that vomit up pretty quick! Must of had some of that stinky old sawdust stuff handy. And the winch problem was discussed with the seller the day after delivery, but I had not noticed the damage until today.

Yes, it looks to me as if the cover was snagged by the winch hook, or someone backed over something pretty big.

There are several problems that I have with the condition of the truck. Shredded boot, leaking axles, no prep before painting, loud popping steering box, bent hardtop, bent hood mounting areas with cracking putty cover-up, weak and incomplete (and improper IMO)bed mounting...all of these things...

The filter for the hydraulic fluid has a gauge that shows it is well past time it should be changed. It along with the inside of the hole are coated with the new paint job that the truck received. I will do as you suggest in the morning. Thank you for your input.

I don't want to reveal the seller, as I am awaiting his reply to the email I sent him. But I can absolutely say it was represented to me as a fully functional truck that had been gone through and anything that needed fixing or replacing was done. I also paid extra to have all fluids and filters...

    Hi/Lift Jack Placement?

Thanks guys. I am a welding contractor, usually stick to pipe welding because the pay is higher. But I have done just about everything there is to do in the welding business.

So, I have had this truck for a few months, and only recently been able to put some time into driving and improving it. Today I decided to spool out the winch, clean and treat the cable. I could not get the winch to wind at all in any direction. I have spent time searching around to make sure...

    Hi/Lift Jack Placement?

Here's a mount that I made. I still intend to make some kind of hammer style nuts to hold it down, but the double nuts are working fine for now. I opted to put the jacks inside to lower the chance of theft. The teflon is just a cutting board sliced with regular wood saws.
