Stretch, Thanks for spearheading this. It looks good, keep it updated. Do we need to provide a list of ss members to the haspin staff at check-in? We have done this in the past to get a group discount on admission. Saves everyone a couple of bucks.
I am trying to keep the t-shirt idea alive. We need to get this going now, if we want to have the shirts in time for the rally. Didn't seem to be any interest on the Connie Rodd suggestion a few posts back. I had some windshield time in the passenger seat yesterday, so I hammered out a quick...
I just measured a gauge that was in the parts bin. The smaller gauges (oil, air, fuel, batt) are 2 1/16 outside diameter on the body of the guage. The bezel ring is 2 1/4" o.d..
The hole in the dash panel is 2 3/32".
Brett, Thanks for resurrecting the t-shirt idea. We definitely need to get that detail in the works.
Here are some more examples that I suggested back in 2007: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/steel-soldiers-rally/7770-haspin-07-lets-get-move-2.html
I just cracked open my April/May '09 copy of Supply Line magazine and discovered that David Doyle is this publication's new Editor. Congratulations Mr. Doyle! It is great to know that such a knowledgeable and accessible dignitary will lead this magazine. Let us know if we can help you sir...
I got the used parts separated from the parts truck, but they have found a local source for a new commercial replacement bearing (with help from tbanks and kipman?) They are going to try replacing the bearing only, and get it home.
Update: Just received the following text msg from gimp: "On...
Alright, I was half-asleep when I wrote the original post - thinking a little more clearly now.
I have a few hours this morning to donate. I believe I have all the parts required that I can quickly pull off of my stuff. However, I probably will only be able to get the needed parts as far...
Gimpyrobb and Oilcan are about 160 miles from home, but are broken down. Reportedly have a front wheel bearing exploded?!?! They are at exit 38, Northbound Interstate 75, near London, KY.
If anyone is nearby, and can help, please pm or email me. They will need inner and outer wheel bearings...

With the recent revival of interest in 4-color MERDC camo, I was browsing through some really old posts. I found this one from a few years back, and noticed that the pictures from McGuyver were lost (most likely from one of the old server crashes). Luckily, I had long ago saved these and I hope...
Just wanted to add a link to the Tech Manual for MERDC:

Boxdoc,
No MV required. Ride a bike, horse, go-cart, whatever, . . . just head south!
Hank, . . . I mean Matt, ;-)
C'mon up, and bring some of that "Strickland" propane.
