I am the last person to throw shade on an OEM upgrade to a M/V but I have to ask, does it really get that cold in your AO? I grew up in Canada and the general wisdom there was block heaters started being useful when you are starting in single digits Fahrenheit. If you are operating in true...
Which brings us to, drumroll please... http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a416038.pdf
TL;DR the original driveshafts explode at ~66rpm which is only 17% higher than the max rpm with stock gearing, violating SAE standards, and also, the angles on the joints exceed best-practice standards in...
I would be happy to help you out, give a deposition, whatever. It sounds like you have your bases covered and have a lawyer and everything but a couple thoughts. The first is if you can get statements from your neighbors saying they don't have a problem with it, that might carry more water than...
At the risk of a hijack, it's a pet peeve of mine that the allison panel goes dim whenever you turn the service lights on (or just the brake lights iirc). I took a pass at this last year and what seems to be happening is when the truck lights are on it is dragging a wire up or down on the...
I know this is an ancient thread, but, a couple notes that maybe are helpful. OP mentions that you can manually align the contact in the AF8 frame to avoid having to purchase a specific turret head. This is true, but, DMC produces a generic turret head UH2-5 for prototype work. It has a long...
There are special state laws that usually restrict how much you can pretend to be a cop - no blue flashing lights, etc. But nothing I've ever heard of that applies to M/Vs. It's a pretty narrow rule.
PHasty, thanks for going to the trouble. I recognize that GP is a business but at the end of the day you and they don't have to to go to this much trouble, it's a service to our community, especially to participate in any way in this forum. And glad to hear the process is getting better re: EUCs.
If you want to do it "properly", get a NATO slave plug and then just plug the truck into the tender. That will save you having to pop the battery cowl every time you want to attach it. Otherwise, you can just get a 24V tender and just clip it on. I recommend the NOCO G26000.
If you overfill, it will spray oil all over itself on the starboard side. It makes a mess but it is otherwise fine to drive. Just make sure you are keeping up with the oil level and that it is ok (that the only problem was the overfill). The oil dipstick is on the port side, towards the rear of...
This all sounds pretty weird. I've done several multi thousand mile trips in my LMTV and it barely puts a dent in the tires. They do get pretty warm, you have to keep up with the pressures, bit tires that big, they just flex flex flex and that goes somewhere (heat).
You might PM DiverDarrell...
