This was mounted in the floor of a previous cucv truck

interior light, might have been an O/C truck that they needed light on a regular basis to be able to read/write, etc... Is it hooked up to run just normally? or is it attached to some sensor wires?

    Parts trip gone wrong

Glad you guys made it out ok. hope the worker is ok too. I never liked those big vans, seems way to easy for something to go funky in bad weather! Glad you guys are ok. only material things were hurt, and those can be replaced. Happy you weren't cruising out in a M1008 or something.

    "C" means what?

We visited the spot down the road as I was considering trying to buy one of those as a project, but didn't. Of course that was probably 2-3 years ago now... But no, not the new stuff... really want to see the BSA.

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

You need to send some pics to Oshkosh asking for some random part number, see the reaction. That thing looks amazing. and very at home with the tanker behind it. Awesome job.

    Our New Departmental MRAP

Commercial armored cars are also built to protect the cargo... which is normally in small bags, loaded in a secure or at least visually protected loading dock, and probably doesn't move, or bleed or anything. They are designed for a crew of 3-4, who are not wearing 80-100 lbs of gear. Sure...

    Our New Departmental MRAP

Just remember that we had Peacekeeper armored vehicles before... The Paint Job looks great Rueben! I almost didn't recognize is as a MaxxPro at first. for a second I thought it was a Bearcat or something else. Looks like you guys got the emergency lights hooked up. May benefit from some...

Pennsylvania Army Bumper Markings? Some Help?

Notwithstanding personal choice.... but if he was in 121st Truck CO, then that would be on the Right side, not left. Left would be Battalion/BDE or next higher echelons. Left (as you face) should be 28th ID / ___ BN Right Side 121 TRK CO (TTC or TRANS CO or TRANS or similar) and then the...

The good and the bad of owning something tracked and/or armored?

I've seen some used by Airsoft and Paintball places for the BIG games, like the all weekend types. I've never been to one that had it, but I know some are out there. I think they'd be fun, but you would have to have some land and time to enjoy it.

    CUCV gun trucks?

I was searching some other stuff and came across this. I saw 2 trailerfulls of these being driven into Ft. McCoy years ago. Back before we fully went to ACUPAT... There is a remote possibility they are the same trucks pictured above before the turret modifications were finished.

    CUCV Surveillance Truck

I think the current version is the QEAMS mast, but that info is a good 4 years old. I don't have anything even close to this in my motorpool here or at my last duty station.

Brand New MRAPS Being Scrapped - A Sad Day

I would not believe that *ALL* MRAPS in AFG will be destroyed. Some might be, especially if they have been damaged/Battle Lossed/Non-repairable. But there are ones that will be coming back for use in our formations. I would believe that we are not giving them to the Afghanies. They are...
