It runs!
First time to oil pressure (to fill new filter and lines): 15 seconds
After shut down and restart, the oil pressure was up in less than 3 seconds.
Pressure drop across new oil filter after 1/2 hr at idle: 6 psi @ 154°F (thermocouple in coolant plug, should be the same as oil temp more...
I detect sadness in your writing Kenny, well these things are never 100%, heck, I'm not 100% myself, but will carry on hoping everything gets done in time.
Still got a lot of biodiesel to make. Need about 100 gallons of bio and veggie oil for the 950 mile roundtrip. My son Adrian drove his CJ7...
Did finish the plumbing, but I'm not comfy with the straight threads in the drilled out cap screws (noted in image). I'm trusting the teflon tape to keep it from leaking, not a good long term solution, although yellow tape is used.
The 3/4 inch plumbing is a bear to work with.
Actually only true for the fuels listed in the TM. Not all fuels have the same relationship between BTU value and viscosity.
Biodiesel, for example, has a lower BTU value than #2 diesel and the FDC reduces the delivery...
Density and viscosity may be related, but it's the viscosity that matters...
Mike, I have the hydraulic hoses with fittings made already, cost me close to $75, but worth it for this test. They are rated 1,250 psi and look a lot better than the clamped on hoses. More pictures later today....
Re: RE: Focus People!!! Focus!
You got that right. :-)
I find myself reading fewer and fewer of the posts on this forum, guess it's just the engineer in me.
Mike you have done a fabulous job on this site and hate to see it cluttered up with nonsense.
Outstanding work! You know, if I hadn't been able to purchase the xm757 8x8, that little goat would have been sitting in my backyard, that's the deal Chris and I had. Of course, it would have taken a year or more to to what you did in a couple of months. Congrats!
This is my current status, the 3/4" hydraulic hoses are stiff and big loops need to be used for the flexing required between the engine and the filter mount.
The short input connection is my problem right now.
PS. The color is a good match, eh, compare the heater duct (unretouched original...
When all is said and done, my installation of D-man's filter kit will also look "heavy duty" after I decided to go for hydraulic hoses with crimped on fittings. Pictures to follow.
Spent the last couple of days hunting fittings, off and on....
A note to Mike: The canister hold-down bolts are not...
Many days of "work" on the vehicles are lost in this climate, no fun working outdoors unless you must.
We only got 2 inches of the stuff, but it was very windy up here on the mountain, gusting to 50-60 mph for a couple of days with lots of power interuptions.
Nice truck! Keep the hood markings, at least good pictures of it.
About the air supply, the compressor puts out about 7 cfm and the tank capacity is enough for intermittant use of air tools, not so good for a paint sprayer or high speed grinder. I have no problem with my 1/2" and 3/4" impacts...
