Yes, that was the intended purpose to begin with and it may also come in handy for Mike's project, since his full-flow filter is only a single unit and with smaller micron rating than stock.
His filter is BIG and I'm considering removing the personnel heater temporarily to make place for it...
You know I'm a man of few words. If I had posted the above it would have been about one paragraph long. :-)
Anyway, I wish you success with your store Mike! My little contribution to the filter project will only involve testing. Actually found a new gauge suitable for the testing before he...
The XM757 8x8 got a muffler while in service in Europe, not for consideration of the driver/codriver but to reduce noise pollution....
I'm looking for pictures to confirm this claim by an ex-driver.
I use earplugs or the VIC-1 intercom headset for hearing protection on long trips. Love the...
Patrick, just went out in the cold (25°F) and stepped on the brake, it registered a little over 500 psi. Sorry about the image being out of focus, I'll get it replaced another day.
Lee, the exploded view comes from an old Memphis Equipment catalog, don't know which TM they got it from.
Looking good Patrick, it's amazing how these little projects stretch out in time and it makes one realize the amount of time spent on the original design details.
BTW, which thread sealer are you using? I have found that the yellow teflon (fuel resistant) tape is hard to work with since it's so...
Ernie, the only "remote" non-drained filter that is not going to upset the oil flow by the extreme cold is a bypass filter and as mentioned before, that's my solution of choice here, a compromise, yes, but it will get the oil cleaner.
Having said that, I have agreed to test Devilman's full-flow...
RE: Aberdeen & My
Mike, I still have your 175 gallon tote and will bring it if everythng goes as planned.
Wish somebody would buy the extra 20,000 lb winch I have....
Lee, the Airpak has a "slave" hydraulic cylinder built-in. The slave cylinder is operated by the large air piston OR (no air pressure) by the Master Cylinder alone. The piston within the slave cylinder has a valve so it can operate by itself or with the air assist.
I have exploded views of the...
Hmmm...no real problem as long as you keep truck rolling (=not parked 90% of the time). If it sits for long periods of time, the oil will run off the bearings and invite rust....
Guys, you may want to reconsider the winch cover, it causes condensation and moisture build-up. To keep rain and snow off, just place a cover over the top to maintain ventilation.
Re: RE: where to buy nylon line?
One thing I can suggest is that you don't twist the canister when you seat it on its gasket, just apply pressure and tighten the nut (bar).
I think the open lines in the stencils should be clean and without overspray and it appears that the adhesive did the job, including handling "bumpy" areas.
As you can see, there is a lot of residue, hopefully alcohol will wash it off.
Stenciled some markings on the 757 this morning. Used the adhesive above and the instructions were the same as suggested by Gary.
Sequence of events in images below. The glue does leave a residue, but I'm sure it can be washed off after the paint is dry.
