tapping the deuce's fuel tank for a generator

Correct, but the "nipple" Patrick is referring to has pipe threads. The regular fuel lines have inverted flare fittings and do not get any sealer of any kind.

Well, on the 757 you have to lift the cab tub off, which isn't really a big job according to the TM, lots of connectors and the mounts. Thought about doing it when I worked on the injection pump, because of poor access from the side. So that V12 is aircooled then, what make and model is it?

Does the cab tilt? Doesn't look like it, so access is similar to the xm757 engine.

help please with diesel generator add-on advice

Re: RE: Re: RE: installing generator on M35A2 That is in fact where you install the fuel pick up line, "elbow" connector in the image, so technically, if you don't have any other lines to connect, you don't need the bulkhead connectors for you project. As far as the shavings, I held a paper...

tapping the deuce's fuel tank for a generator

Just don't overtighten, add sealing tape (teflon) if it doesn't come out right the first time.

    Fifth wheel question

Here is a different view of the operation. The second image shows how the 5th wheel was removed from the M52A2. The spacer was riveted to the flange. The new spacer will be attached with bolts to the brackets along the side on the xm757, not exactly the way it was done on the original, but...

    Fifth wheel question

Spent a little time on the 5th wheel again today. Got the 1x3 flat stock spacers in place with "cavities" for the rivets on the frame. Positioned it for marking of more holes to be drilled. Ran the deuce (crane) for the first time in a while to help with the lifting.

help please with diesel generator add-on advice

Re: RE: installing generator on M35A2 Patrick, use a bulkhead fitting like this, I used them for the coolant lines for the heated tank project. They have NPT threads on the inside. Various thread sizes and lengths, should be available at your local NAPA. You can gain access to the inside of...

tapping the deuce's fuel tank for a generator

Like Kenny says, the winterization kits use fuel from main tank(s). This is from the 209-20, but no instructions. Note how the return is modified.

Dean, the tires were custom made for this vehicle and are low profile 16R20 on 12 inch wide rims. They are tubeless and designed to run on very low pressure. I'd like to find more of the same, have located a few, but not in the very best condition. The truck may look like a cabover, but the cab...

As you know, the Tatra is a Check product along with Second World War halftracks, that the Germans liked so much. As far as the CTIS, the DUKW has a CTIS also from WW2, don't know who thought of it first, pretty simple idea, just hard to make work right. You'd really need one heck of a large...

    Work in progress

I'm waiting for a new torque rod, the lower left front one has a torn rubber bushing. With it installed, I can align the front wheels (all four of them :-)) and finish off the front part of the vehicle. Should have a functional fuel system within a week or so.... Amber and OD go well together...

Suspension comparison. The Tatra has a ridgid "back bone" feature housing the driveline components and all independent suspension of the wheels, a system used by Tatra since the 1920's, I read.

Stencils, solar charger & gas tank mounts

I agree with Leonard. I usually put a glove on and just press down on the stencil as I go. :-) Like the idea of a glue, though, especially for a curved surface.
