I vote for the back roads. One reason is potential for breakdowns and the then relatively easy pulling over off the rightaway. One truck may be okay, but a dozen?
If sombody misses an exit in traffic on the freeway that person may have one heck of time getting back in the convoy if at all. when...
The (yellow, service) driver's side glad hand in the rear of your deuce is directly connected to the air line which operates the large airpak piston and must be closed when not hooked up to a trailer. If your brakes ever lock up because of an airpak malfunction, they can be released by opening...
A couple of things that effect performance and may play a role in Kenny's truck.
1) Timing, did John Winslow retard it? If not, then by firing early in the cycle, the engine may develop more torque (argument anyone?), although the engine may also suffer from preignition under the wrong...
This is how David put it:
"The FS595B 24084 should be darn near a perfect match for FS595A 24087, and FS595B 24084 is available from a number of commercial paint makers. 24087 is a radically different color between FS595A and FS595B.
The problem that many enthusiasts experience, especially...
John, the Aervoe 997B (24084) is a Semi Gloss Olive Drab and is listed as "New" by advertisers in MVM.
The 24084 was recommended to me by David Doyle as THE color for late Vietnam era vehicles (my 1969 xm757) and I got sample cans from two different places with the same batch number.
I settled...
I'm not worrying about the fading, the color match is great (never liked the Gillespie brown for their 34087) and few carries the assortment of colors Aervoe does. Try getting Earth Yellow from Gillespie and Randolph is impossibly high when buying individual cans.
I started using the Aervoe...
The small tube feeds the nozzle at about 90 psi when the flame heater pump is turned on, there may be some leakage when off, never tested it that way. The return line should take care of it.
To test the nozzle for leakage, you have to remove the nozzle, plug the opening in the intake manifold...
I got my Aervoe 24084 (997B) from
Alan Haage (609 953-1003)
34 Maine Trail
Medford, New Jesery 08055
The paint is a perfect match to the original (none of that brownish stuff) and because of that, I'm sticking with Aervoe on this one.
Mark, adjusting the idle a little higer to 800 rpm or so, should solve the oscillation problem. N/A engines are set lower at about 700 rpm.
So, that's about $9.300....
RE: Re: RE: What fuel?
Adam, as far as I know the "modification" simply involves bypassing the FDC and will have zero effect on the way the engine burns the fuel. It's actually better set up for bio fuels that way as explained in the post above.
With the new "ultra low sulfur" diesel now sold...
