Can't figure out how to copy a single page of a PDF manual, so I submitted a download of the 39 page TB. It's waiting for approval. Hope I did it right!
In the TM, there is no NSN or any number that refrences the mount, it just says mount, antenna. Is it the regular sugar scoop? or is it a totally different one? As for the pipe running up the back of the cab, it says, tube, metallic. I can just use 2 1/4 EMT. How tall is the antenna used on this...
When I got my truck, it had 2 stainless u- bolts hanging out of the drivers outside rear of the cab. Browsing thru the TMs I have on CD, I came across this. It's listed as an AS3900/VRC (A3017899-1).
Stress relief! I'll come home all wound up, fire up the big canvas smeelin beast, and just putt around 10 or 15 miles. I come home all relaxed and a nice fuzzy feeling all over.
I have a mix of tires on my truck, Armstrongs, Denmans, Coopers. Some have CC, some have NDC and some NDCC on them. What is the difference? About how many miles should be expected out of the tires?
Beautiful trucks! How do you store/mount the cargo uprights and corners it the front of the bed? I have seen it on other trucks and images of them there in the TMs, but there is no image of how to put them there.
If it slobbers out the exhaust, and you have no massive amounts of oil out the road draft/crankcase vent/blow by tube, that will usually indicate a cylinder problem, it is usually the valve guides/seals. If you want to be sure, remove the turbo and exhaust manifold, find a way to plug the turbo...
Nah, not a cooling problem. It's just a little oil passing thru the guides. It's kinda of normal, especially after an engine gets time on it and has no guide seals. It is a very common problem in reconditioned heads. Take Cummins v.s Diesel Recon. The Cummins valve guide max diameter is .0025...
The newer Cummins engines have sort of the same issue, but they also put soot out the joints due to the EGR pressures. N14s will slobber oil out the manifold joints if idled too long, and Cummins had no solution for this, except, don't idle it for extended periods. Those have guide seals. The...
What kind of engine is it? Can you post a pic of the priming pump. If it's a cummins 220, 749 or 855, it's only 2 o-rings on the shaft. Sorry, don't know much about the 5 ton, just clicked here by mistake, but i do know cummins.
