Looks like the right spot. This diagram should help, you are plugging the supply line to the flame heater filter/pump and should be fairly obvious when you remove it.
Don't forget the return line, there is a Tee near the injectors on top.
Several items have been stripped from my XM757 8x8 over the years and one such thing is the black out light plus mounting bracket.
Found this on ebay:

The wrecker version of your truck has a rear winch, which is powered from the power divider, perhaps you can adopt the same set-up for your cargo.
Not sure how the rpm would be set for the hydraulic pump, though.
About advantages/disadvantages, the Grove crane is more compact hight-wise and is...
Return the oil to the port on the far left in the image below, you will need to cool the oil. The coolant cooled cooler is much more efficient than air cooled filter canisters. Please, install some gauges to monitor what you do, an oil temp gauge is now important. Is there a bypass valve in...
Suspected so, that's why I posted the diagram of the coolant flow above (it shows the flushing procedure here) and how the oil pan is not well thermally coupled.
Heating from below makes more sense and the arctic kits should be studied.
Maybe there should be a skirt around the engine...
Patrick's deuce looks pretty good with the big duals, he also has commercial "steer" tires in the front. Now, if we could only find an interaxle differential, we'd be all set. :-)
Will, it's for 1/2 inch tube size, multifuel engine fuel supply lines (LDS465-2). I will need 4 ea, but let me check with NAPA here and I'll get back with you if you have them. The "nut" is 15/16 across the flats.
Thanks,
Perhaps someone here knows where to find these, the fitting on the left, it fits the SAE 45° flare or maybe it's the 37°, can't tell for sure.
I can't find a listing anywhere and need a couple of them for a fuel filter project on the XM757, where they are used.
Thanks,
Collected some info and came up with two questions;
1) What is the best method for removing a freeze plug?
2) How does the coolant heater effect the temperature of the oil?
Mark, the pup tent canvas is much finer (=thinner) than standard cab or cargo cover canvas. It will not stand up very well.
You can purchase high quality canvas from OD Cloth and other suppliers for about $35/yard. I did and also got an awl and thread to match. My driver's seat was made this way...
As a side note, since the trailer connectors are connected to the lights on both the towing and towed vehicles, a double ended cable can be made up to connect both.
I did just that when the XM757 was towed home, extra cables were available damaged one way or another, but splicing two ends...
I have the AS-3900A/VRC, but have not yet used it. It is non-tunable.
It is explained here:http://www.valcom-guelph.com/HTML/products/vhighfreq/as3900a-vrc_photo.html
RE: Re: RE: Duals vs. singles
Singles, (if replaced with 1100's) offer better safety factor in the front. The 900's get close to overloaded if your truck has a winch, in particular at highway speeds.
Why not get some 10W oil or add some veggie oil, I'd be concerned about the pinkish color...hefty fine for driving on the highways with off-road diesel (pinkish color).
