Prelubing via the filter housing port(s) may not be possible, if the oil drains back to the pan when the oil pump stops, why wouldn't it be pushed back that way with the external pump also?
The "oil entrance" marked in one image above is the ideal location for a check valve and may be the...
Absolutely. These are cooling system features and it doesn't matter if it's gas or diesel. Probably no need for the additives, though, but they don't do any harm.
Mudflap pictures below. Mounting bolts for the struts are sunk into the wood as shown.
Funny thing about the "rubbing" for the rear light locations, I cleaned up the basement a couple of days ago, found it and figured you didn't need it after all and burned it in the wood stove. Helped keep the...
Mike, the old bed was homemade. Served me well for about 8 years. The pipeline bed is very heavy, my empty weight (with the crane) is just over 17,000 lb....
Joel, the mud flaps are bolted to the bottom of the bed, don't know off hand how the originals were installed. I'll get pictures later if...
RE: Re: RE: cooling system maintenence
Patrick, you can place several loops in parallel, just like adding electrical parallel circuits, too many and the pressure (voltage) will start to drop. I have plans for adding a shut-off valve for the heater "loop" to keep the pressure high enough for the...
Gimpy, do I have a picture? rofl
Sure, here you go. Also Check MVM issue #109, June 2005 for an article on the cooling system maintenance. Finally do a "search" on this forum.
As far as plumbing in the bypass filter, I'm inclined to use the pressure gauge connection. Adding a Tee and combining the drain to the oil pan with the turbo lube drain, if practical.
Good project Will! When I first removed the lower rad hose, it had a lot of grit, core sand or whatever in it and which led me to install the coolant filter.
Ethan, FWIW, I use the glycol/distilled water/additive mix, specified in the TM's.
Patrick, the coolant heater on the XM757 was installed in the hot water personnel heater line. I say "was", because it, along with the heater was removed as the heater was not standard. It was the red 1,000 W "Therm-o-Pump" shown below. After checking it, I found that the heater element is open...
