    Mount Gama

How about posting a few pics? Was part owner of one for almost a year and looked forward to working on it, but never actuall touched it, the 8x8 got in the way. At least we saved one from the crusher. :-) You lock the articulated feature for highway driving, correct?

You are welcome! I'll get it out today.

    Ether Start Kit on Ebay

The drawback with the flame heater is that it consumes oxygen when used. Ether is simpler and more effective IMHO. $200 that's nuts! There is an MVM article on this. With good warm batteries you should be able to start the multi down to zero deg F without any starting aids. I have a heating pad...

    Tire chains

Putting chains on a deuce? Do it all the time, takes about 20 minutes, 30 tops. Adjusting and installing bunji straps may add a few minutes. When it gets slick it's certainly worth the effort. About shortening the chains, are you trying to make them fit 900's? The 900 tires take a slightly...

    Medium towbars one fat

Only have one extra, how long? With the trade balance between us being what it is, there would be no charge.

    M44A3 ?

This is the M44A, A1 and A2. The "A" number designates certain modifications for that particular variant. The M44A2 has stack exhaust, air shift for example. The "A3" for the M44 is another upgrade, but does not refer to the M35A3. Just reading the manual here. :-)

    M35 PULLING A SEMI TRAILER

Test fitted the 5th wheel assy on the 8x8 today. Looks like it will go on easily, just need to dimension some spacers correctly. The 5th wheel came from an M52A2.

    M35 PULLING A SEMI TRAILER

Here is a pic of the platform, which can be seen in the previous post as well. Kenny calls it a "porch", don't know what is the correct name, but the xm757 manuals refer to it as a "dromedary platform" (like the camel). Thanks David for providing the excellent pictures!

    M35 PULLING A SEMI TRAILER

If you are installing the 5th wheel "from scratch", you may want to follow the example set by Ford on the 8x8, using brackets to avoid drilling the flange of the frame. The 5th wheel assembly is identical on the 2-1/2, 5-ton and this xm757 8x8, btw, same NSN. They did a lot of things "right" on...

    Medium towbars one fat

Received a pair of extension pieces (the inner part) for the "fat" medium towbar yesterday. They came from Wayne Harris. They are not for Jason's towbar, I was hoping to replace the one that was welded for him after I broke it. I now officially have parts for 4 different towbars and none...

NJ military trail ride in the pines

Beautiful images! Thanks for posting. What are the chances for a 2 or 3 day affair? More people could attend, of course you really lucked out with the weather this time. Reminds me of of my canoeing days in the "pines" back in the 60's and 70's.... You all know what's coming don't ya, wheel...

FCC drops morse code requirement for HF ham radio

Hand signals do come in handy at times. I think I would want to know the code anyway as a back-up. I like options, always carry extra tools, when on the road, not just one adjustable wrench to handle everything which would be the equivalent here...

    Still have idle probleml

The flame heater is used for cold weather starting (say below 20°F). It consists of a fuel pump feeding a nozzle on the intake manifold adapter and an igniter firing a spark plug installed close to the nozzle. A switch below the dash to the left of the steering wheel is your control. The flame...

FCC drops morse code requirement for HF ham radio

Wow, I always felt that knowing the Morse code set the amateur radio operators one apart from the rest of us, now it'll be like operating any other "CB" radio. Any reason for this?

    Troop Seat NSN Question

Question came up on the mil-veh list also and I still think it's for an M756 pipeline truck. The bed is 120 inches long. The parts book says it's for an M34.

    drilling and counter sinking holes

The planer is from the 50's, was marked USMC, so it goes with the rest of the stuff.

    drilling and counter sinking holes

Joel, finished the locust boards today. I'm not terribly proud over the job, there are too many defects in the wood, locust is hard find without them, but I''ll look for replacements at a different sawmill from now until the boards are delivered.

Any "easy way" to clean fuel tank/lines???

RE: Re: RE: Any "easy way" to clean fuel tank/line Hmmm...been running hundreds of gallons of unwashed bio in my deuce, also a diesel VW Rabbit and several Benzes over the last couple of years. The only possible problem is one coked injector, because to much veggie oil (not biodiesel) at low op...
