Good piece of info!
This is how it was covered in the MVM article (image below) and for the record, this error was first pointed out to me by David Doyle when I was working on the article.
Interesting following this project along. Kind of an incentive to get my own truck cleaned up, it's a bit of a mess after all that veggie oil.
Question on your valves, are they automatically vented when switched off?
I'll be scheduling a visit to your place on my next trip South. :-)
Andy, he just called me to let everybody know that he is now parked in an RV park in Edwards, Mississippi. Patrick decided that the $20/day at Askew's Landing was better than the truck stops, (but has no internet connection).
The alternator fix is holding up just fine and he is enjoying the...
Used the small electric transfer pump to fill and prime the system. The filters were bled and all set to go.
I removed the pump from the circuit to let the IP suck fuel directly from the jug.
Cranking it resulted in nothing, no fire.
Checked #6 injector feed line by loosening it, but there was...
Bring tools for changing a tire. Make sure the passenger side mirror is adjusted, can't do it while driving and keep a baseball cap handy... no sun visors. :-)
Hmmm..Jon, I tried it again today, but it didn't come to life.
Used a small electric fuel pump to bleed the lines, perhaps it created a problem by not having
the capacity to supply the amount of fuel needed when I was cranking the engine. The return flow was minimal,
nowhere near the 2...
Looks better in the pictures than in real life! Can't believe you were able to drive it home.
You got your 2-stroke, congrats, and good luck with the project!
Took a while to find it, but this image shows a portion of the dash superimposed on a view from the driver's seat while driving up a 5% grade.
Pictures were taken within seconds of each other.
The deuce was empty except for the K-boom, so the GVW was about 16,000 at this time. My multi is...
Don't know about the 715 in particular, but the heater core should become a loop in the cooling system. The only thing you don't want to do is bypass the thermostat with this "loop".
I found out about Frank Masoner from Tom Bauer. Got some parts from him already and he said his own truck was for sale. See, Clinto a step ahead, just didn't show where I had been. :-)
Frank is now looking for a fuel tank.
The other connection, from D-man, is Jim Henry in North Carolina, who...
Replacing those generator belts can be a PITA.
When finished, make sure your alternator is tight, a couple of bolts on the bracket are very difficult to reach.
When replacing the generator, I find it easier to "hook" the belts on the pully before bolting it in.
Akjeep, these subjects have been covered in great detail thru many threads on this forum, I suggest you do a search.
Your optemp seems about normal for the multi, I run with a custom made piece of plywood in front of the radiator almost at all times to keep the temp up to 175°F or so. Only hits...
Don't have the fuel system ready yet, need the fuel pump to get rid of the air in the lines.
I have cranked it several times with fuel supply and return in a gallon jug of fuel, but have trouble bleeding the system this way.
Since I don't have a fuel tank, I'm thinking about plumbing it to the...
Hey James, nice equipment! Looks like they belong together.
Did you hook up the brakes on the deuce?
Notice that you have a tachograph installed, how do you like it? I have one and am considering using it in my 8x8 when it gets going.
Beautiful day here, clear skies, calm and room temp outside.
Removed the #6 injector for inspection a while ago, here are the images:
Note that it's a single hole injector.
Image #3 shows how easily the filter elements are replaced from the top.
