Greg, do what Kenny suggested, mount the bracket below the flange for more clearance between the alternator and it.
I shortened the drive belts a little and have enough clearance to loosen the bolt. Once the bolt is loose, the canister spins right off from below as you pull on it to keep the...
Patrick, while at the truck stop, put your deuce on the scales, it will give you a definite on the weight.
Knowing the weight of the basic cargo truck, 13,100 lb (plus extra 1100's in your case), should pin down the shelter weight.
Glad you made it to Commerce, GA so quickly, it wasn't quite as far as we figured I guess, less than 300 miles.
You guys look good in the dark. :-)
Enjoyed you company too and Opie's of course, next time you have to stay longer!
I recognize the view above driving from VA into NC on I-77, about...
Will, according to Patrick, the blades are better made than the originals and the arm length is adjustable. They are on the truck in this picture. He said they work better.
I agree with Dman on the bleeding issues.
Note that the fuel tank is grounded via one single wire, #79, which connects to the fuel pump and everything else on the tank, through the 3 prong plug.
To measure the supply voltage, make sure the meter probe is grounded correctly (not to the tank with...
After a breakfast and last minute "walk around" checks, Patrick left at 09:10 hrs this morning...
Have a great trip!
Peter, glad you made it back okay, that Blue Ridge Parkway gets very dark at night indeed.
The gravel in our driveway gives everybody trouble, so don't feel bad. :-)
They are kind of heavy, here is one loaded in the gin pole holders on my deuce. Ended up with a set, which we found in the weeds in Oklahoma.... No adapters, though.
The "rosette" weld shows up on the smaller towbars as well, should have pictures of that somewhere.
Patrick and Peter (Opie) arrived within minutes of each other, just after 15:00 hrs today.
It's windy but otherwise the weather is cooperating.
Patrick has an impressive amount of electronis in his S-280 "commo box".
Glad Opie took the time to drive his deuce from Roanoke about 65 miles away...
Flying J is my favorite, buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, none of that Subway or Wendy's for me (Pilot, Love's and other).
One item I think is important is a pillow, that's right a pillow so you can sleep just about anywhere if you have to. :-)
Shouldn't have any problems whatsoever. I would stick to the interstates for much better average speed and places to pull off in case of trouble.
Make sure your lights work and add extra reflector strips on the rear for safety, if you plan on driving at night.
Plan ahead and take your time...
Sermis, you may want to check your fuel cut-off mechanism on the IP.
The shut-off handle on the dash doesn't actually attach to the lever (shown in the images below), it only engages it and when the handle is pushed back in on the dash, the lever must be free enough to return to starting=open...
I like the idea of ventilation and shade.
My bikini top is an example, shown here painted white for extra coolness. :-)
Never really got hot during the entire cross country trip. Many nights were spent looking at the stars sleeping in the cab.
