I hate to turn this into an old/older middle age guys thread, but my knees are hurting worse now than the sciatica I'm going in for LOL..... Getting a spinal stimulator implant. I suppose knees will be next. We worked hard all our lives, now close to retirement we get to sit the fun out when we...
Hey WWRD99 I gotta move my blazer from where it's parked tomorrow, I have the two wire plug removed so it won't drain the battery. Can I run the truck to move it to another part of my property without plugging it back in without frying anything, or do I need to plug it back in, move the truck...
That's too bad, I'm about the same age. Sad to see. I got both my RT524 and R442 for my humvee from the company, was first class service from beginning to end. Terrible to see relatively young people with good businesses go down for the count. I was wondering what happened when I couldn't get on...
And what would that be? I can't find a NSN number or part number except this 4629JA and I can't find this online anywhere and any Delco 27SI i find online doesn't have a capacitor or what looks like one to me on the rear of my alternator. I'm confused. I found a couple on an auction site That...
For the life of me I cannot find the NSN number for the Alternator on the right side. I'm just going to replace the alternator and then rebuild the old one with a new rectifier. Any help here? I looked at all the cucv Tm's including the -P's.
Okay Further update, started the truck this afternoon, voltage was 13.8 to both batteries. Shut it down. Gen2 light wasn't on. This evening went out to check on the truck, the gen2 light was back on sitting there. I unplugged the two wire plug to the alternator 2, light went out. So according to...
New issue, now that I got both jhook arms and wipers on and functioning, my wiper isn't spraying except for one dribble I happened to get on the left side. while playing with the column mounted switch. Where do i start on this one? I see it uses suction from the tank, to a big box with two...
Okay So if I pull out the plug and the gen 2 light goes out, it's something in that alternator? I just did a simple volt test after starting the engine and I get about 13.8V at both batteries when running. I'll pull the plug later tonight and post what I get.
Okay back to the dorman. Apparently i'm stupid. The second arm worked fine once I figured out how it mechanism works. You have to pull out the little clip after prying back the arm then nudge it back after putting the arm on. I must have busted the first arm, cause it still just twists around...
Okay guys here's an update, i hate it myself when people don't update their repairs or diagnoses, A few days after I posted last, I went out at night and noticed the gen two was out was out. So i started it expecting to have a dead battery but it energized the glow plugs and started fine. It's...
Okay guys I've been lax in doing testing after charging the rear battery for a long time. I went out this morning and took my dogs out with my bad back and walked around in the acres then came back to try starting up the m1009, I noticed before I got in the GEN2 light was on and the steering...
Never mind. I got the spring out, helps when you have the arm in a vise. got the pin out too but it came out with the bushing so it's gonna be real interesting to get the pin off the bushing to reuse. I had to basically destroy the arm in the process, so it will be interesting to see if I can...
I thought about it, but I already bought the dormans and I'm not going to toss them or go through the whole return process. If I can't get this done then I'll go with the side pin ones. But I at least want to try, I know I can do it if I can only get the spring off, there's gotta be fairly easy...
Okay went to NAPA after buying the dorman recommended here. They didn't fit on the spindle on my 86.
They can't find anything remotely matching with a jhook.
So I'm going to drive out the pin holding the old arms and replace the arms with the dormans after knocking out those pins. One...
