John - I can free up part of Thur or Fri if you are running short of prep time - happy to help you off to a good start.
Can lend you some of those big square reflectors (400mm/16"x16") for the rear if you want a more High viz butt!

It's an 'A1 .... You were closer the first time (Post # 55)
: ) : )
..... NB. I'm only correcting this for posterity of the thread!
Question..... should your avatar be changed to Polish hot sausage? (wink wink!!!)
After Matt (who scouted the trail) questioned whether the bridge would hold the 916A1's (mine or Johns) I think it should be renamed the medium truck trail ride!!!!! :)
.... though later he said it may not have been a prob????
Enjoyed the show when I finally got there (ridiculous late Fri night...
Thanks John. After searching the 700+ pages I found it (naturally starting from the back). Can't quite make it out but it looks like it's non metallic - f/g or plastic so there would be a load of "No Step" stencils needed.
I think I'll go with steel or Al chequerplate, folded to a hexagon (top...
John - is there anything left of the G 177's ? If so, are you getting rid of them? I need two for steers (would prefer to go all 10) but that's not going to happen for a while..... OR, I might fall in love with the singles and go that route after a closer look this weekend : )
Unless you want to pull a second trailer (legality issues naturally), I think you would achieve your goals more efficiently by putting two short receiver tubes (the 2"ID outer tubes) under the ends of each chassis rails - this will give you a more sturdy mounting for the 'added rack'/ spare tyre...
Yeah John - I don't know how that much water got in, other than the bridge plate bracket. I didn't want to add holes but I did anyway since the finished repair isn't perfect, due to the re-squaring of the bottom tubes' freeze 'rounding'. I was going to cut in a new piece of square tube but...
Like the sliding rear window - that is a must.
Haven't done too much to it yet other than a few tidy up's..
Did weld the nuts to the back side of the brush guard to allow for one man install after I repaired the lower tube - it had blown round from water ingress freezing.
Added a rain...
Not to veer off course too much..... and of course I'll call the Pulsetech chappie on Monday. BUT, has anyone any ideas re getting just the "smart box" as I have two panels on the cowl behind the hood of my 916A1 with the wires cut just below. No sign of the unit(s) which do the thinking, near...
To quote many thread replies: "Ditto what he said above...."
Don't know if I am alone on this - but this is ba$$ acwards on my forum setup...
On mine - All the newest replies to any thread are at the top (seen first when opening a thread) and the original post is way down at the bottom...
Errrrrm....... A: That pic was a photoshop fix - read note.
and B: I see no prob with a RHD (which is cirrect!) here in the land of driving on the wrong side of the road.... If you have mirrors, your vision should be the same and you are over the curb! Plus, in a MV you are likely traveling...
Quick recolor for the parade. Been using "Sand" in a rattle can for small stuff I could take off the truck and paint in the basement, but finally 'blew' over the whole truck with the FSS code from Home Depot. Colour matched pretty good with the "Sand" and an original CARC wheel that was...
Parade line up pic..
After a quick "15 foot" paint job and mounting of 'manufacturer Logo's signs' - here is the line up pic. Parade was fun - loads of candies thrown.
Was joined by Sherman (M38 + trailer), Ted (Dodge pickup M??), jatonka (bobbed 5 ton), dougco1 (M1009 + M101) and Lorna (Jeep...
I scaled the cab using the tyres as reference though it looks like the HET cab is a little small (didn't shorten the sleeper either).... and no, I didn't find a RHD HET... Had to flip it to match the 5 ton.
..also, a lot would depend on you keeping duals or if it's 'singled out'. Singles would give you more room vs body work etc. Conflicts with the suspension would also have to be considered.
You would not have to have the rears steer 1:1 with the front axle - only a percentage would greatly...
I'd say there is another issue here. Maybe the winch brake is dragging... (Is it possible a rear axle is hung up on a stump?)
I would think (without seeing the actual situation) the stock winch should be able to move the truck, single line, at idle, not driving, without problems...
Dang that's more work than I was expecting - I knew I had forgotten a load... but now there are many I hadn't heard off!
Trouble is, ... I now need logo's for all the US manufacturers (going to omit the 'made for the US' like M.A.N, Merc, Land Rover., etc...)
Thanks everyone for your efforts.
