If you send me some photos & hand diagrams, I would be happy to build a Power Point on this and load it up for the site. I'm good at doing that kind of stuff.
What about putting seal protector on the seals & keeping the metal in a dry environment (the brakes don't hold water after it rains do they, I mean they drain like regular brakes, yes?), that should ensure no brake problems?
How much (roughly) did that whole system redo run you? I read in the mod section here where a guy put in a whole 6-wheel disc brakes from a Ford F450. I'm trying to figure out if it is a design flaw, bad parts, or what that causes these failures. I mean, my Jeep has hydraulic brakes and I...
So how are the brakes on the M813? I have read a lot on here where the M35A2s have delicate brakes that can often fail. I thought the M813 might have a more robust brake system. Am I wrong in that thought?
Congrats on the find. Please enlighten a greenhorn. What is so special about this wrench? Is it for a specific function? Does it have magical properties (I.e. I hit a rusty lug nut with the wrench & all the rust turned to gold!)?
Thanks. I found I didn't have it in my collection (45 TMs & counting), but I found it at this site & the diagrams are very clear & readable. http://www.liberatedmanuals.com/search.mpl?q=tm-9-2320-361-24-1&..
Thanks all for the replies. So including the original post, that is 4 failures so far. Anyone else want to chime if if they personally have had a brake failure?
From what I can glean from the posts, the biggest preventative is keeping a good eye on the brake fluid level for leaks (made easier...
Isn't it sad in today's world where it is even in the realm of possibility that someone would put it on backwards. It reminds me of the time Curly Howard tried drilling a hole in the bottom of a sinking boat "to let the water back out".

I'm glad there were no injuries with this & think good shoes & frequent brake checks are key to safety.
Let me ask this of all the Deuce owners here. How long have you owned your Deuce & have you (not a friend, acquaintance, or third person story) personally had a brake failure while driving...
I had read somewhere (blasted failing memory) that a stack flap wasn't good of a Deuce & to leave the angled exhaust. I always thought flaps would be better (& they look cool) at keeping junk & rain our of the pipes. Also wouldn't need a soda bottle to climb up & put on to keep the junk out...
I just clicked Contact Us link at the top right of the page. Then clicked send an email link on the next page. It pulled up orders@dataplates.net just as Bphdbrad showed above.
Loved the videos, thanks for sharing. You part of Down Under sure looks different (& better) that where I lived (Woomera).
What's that thing bolted to your dash that your GPS is sitting on? Almost looks like the upper portion of a dual rifle mount.
The word on the side says everything. UN, like Undisciplined, Uncoordinated, Uncaring, Unethical, Unorganized, Uncontrolled, Uncouth, Untrained, etc.... I think you get my point. :deadhorse:
I also saw in another thread on this site where a guy installed the brake system from a Ford F-450 (or a 550) on an A2 to give 6-wheel power disk brakes. No doubt an expensive modification, but it would be great to remove that potential hazard.
I'm 4th generation veteran & the truck is a few...
