Looking for a couple of hold downs for the battery’s. Haven’t been able to find any on line , john deer has some that are close but not “coated” just plain metal. Any suggestions on where to look ??
Fuses are designed to protect the wire from melting like the circuit breaker at your house. Most products are internally protected by using a thermal switch that opens from heat. There are specialty overloads for single circuit loads but are voltage specific for the amp load.
way too much time...
No. I did check for tightness originally and there were very tight. I’m sure it will pop back up. I thought it might have been because the box was loose with the mounting bolts ? It should have been grounded threw the wire harness.
I’m sure you’re right. I just haven’t found found it yet. Being sick for a week and now raining doesn’t help the search. I’m sure it will pop back up , I’m hoping it won’t lead to a total meltdown.
Typical de mill. Die grinder to remove. But why cut them ? The radio ? They left the other end in the truck. Like cutting off the antenna mounts and fording valve parts.
Here’s a little update. It’s good and not figured out. After cleaning up all the electrical and replacing the batts , nothing changed. After connecting everything back up the lights and everything would come on but as soon as I turned on the Ing. everything would die. So I re pulled the batts...
It’s all just bad news 😣 , cleaned all the electrical and replace the batts. Lights are happy but as soon as I turned on the ing. switch , I can gear the fart box relay click than the wait light comes on for 1/2 second and everything goes dead. So hopefully tomorrow I can pull the box and look...
A little follow up. So far pulled all wires in the battery box and cleaned. I don’t know what the MC has with silicon but what a mess. Nothing looked bad but cleaned it all up. Found the front battery is really weak , put it on a rejuvenating charger and gonna wait to see if it comes around.
I think my control box died. Ran it on Friday and jumped my new Mep. Went to mone it tonight and dead , no lights - nothing. Jumped it with the Mep and still nothing. Got 28v and a good ground but not even the lights work. Looked around for a cb under the dash but it’s a little cold and dark...
I recently got a Mep -802a and without reading this post I would have passed on this gen set. Has a nice viberation , same “blow by” out the dipstick. And yes the lifting shackles make a ton of noise. Now I just need to replace the temp gauge and batts. Making a plug/harness to connect to my...
Thanks. That’s all great advice. I figured if it wasn’t leaking something it ran out. 🤣 I’ll be looking at it tomorrow , load test is going to be a large electric heater.
