I've done both... I always go with rust free, but I'm a wrench and not a body man.... I'd swap the harness and melted bits first depending on the cause of the thermal event. If it runs it's a bonus. If not, continue on and swap the powertrain. Keep nessesary spares and part the rest.
The good thing is all my GM's were always dead way before they realized it, so they just kept running and charging the next hill as their bodies disintergrated.
If you have the option and it's not costing you extra $$, I'd go with covered storage. If I could, all my toys would be under cover when not in use. My trucks are trucks and are used as such, but I love them and I want to keep them around as long as I can. There are lower cost of ownership...
The wire comes out at the front of the steering gear (box). It's a single wire and it may be chaffing by it's retention point on the frame or at the exit of the box. The insulation was cracked and strands were showing on mine right where it exited the steering gear. I degreased it with...
Welcome! I'm in the Southern end of the Commonwealth, but close enough to feel the pain from some of your former residents (now commuters) trying to ruin my area...........
Honestly I think I have these issues with every vehicle I buy.... I tend to purchase vehicles very cheap because of previous owners neglect, sort out the issues, and enjoy them for what they are or in many instances sold them for a profit.... ANY vehicle without proper PM will end up in a...
Sorry, I went the other route.......
Between my wifes Land Rover that weeps oil out of the pores in the aluminium block, the little Brittish cars, HD, Chevy K with 320K miles on it, and the Deuce mine is all stains and no driveway:).
On a serious note... I've had luck with Castrol Super Clean...
Like others have said, Hi 1-5 unless really loaded. I have enough "down hill" intersections near me that I can actually start in second most of the time. I hold back from the intersection a few feet and watch the opposing signal light, I release the brake and she'll roll forward fast enough...
Check on the law for your area and after that it is a personal choice. "Personally" no one rides in one of my vehicles without being belted in. I have refused to move on many occassions. If I get the "what if I can't get it undone" excuse, I show them where the belt cutter is stored..... My...
You can't beat the electric pump but you can buy a check valve and install it after the manual pump. I installed one on my MG years ago and even if it sits for 3 months it only take one pump to spray the cars windshield sitting next to me :)
Awesome... I fly almost weekly and have thought of doing this just for fun.... I'm sure at some point it may happen out of necessity...... What would even be more fun would be to drop the top/windshield and top the exhaust so it would fit in the first level of the parking garage. :D
I bought them at a local to me moving company some months back. They were dirt cheap. I think I paid $100 or $150 per set. I'm getting old and too lazy to find my original posting. Call around to some local moving companies. They usually have some that the anti-skid is worn and they...
Here are mine. Fiberglass 12' long car ramps with a 6,000 lb capacity per set when joined. I have two sets. I wanted them to fit in the bed or I would have gone with 14's as the 12's are "walk-able" but a little steep when loading.
Looks like you need to do some cleaning.....:-D
To answer your question. Yes, it is located under the cover being held down by the safety wired bolts you have shown in your picture.
Mine is all but .400" of exposed threads on the go fast screw and produces NO smoke and EGT's rarely break 1000. That's how it was when I cut the safety wire off to take a peak. She's got great power though, so I don't mess with it.
Mirrors are pretty cheap... It's the mail boxes that get expensive.:)
My kids are following my path. Principles of steering the truck/tractor while on my lap at around 10 or 11 and progressing to piloting the tractor. Then to driving in the fields. By 16 they will be ready for the roads...
