Why are you even using 1st gear at all?
The only time I use 1st. is loaded off road, or starting out loaded on an incline.
Start out in second low, split up to High and go from there. You keep jerkin the driveline like this and you'll need deep pockets and a mechanic.

As someone who started driving trucks when most didn't have synco trans in em and just so happened to own them all too...I can tell you this, I double clutch everthing to this very day. I've never worn out a clutch and never had to replace a trans in any of my equipment.

I put a canister drain valve on my truck also, but I used a small ball valve with a pipe plug in the end as back up and it was very inexpensive to do. Shortly thereafter I went with spin on's and no longer need to use the valve, but watch the quick connect.
