I don't discount the abilities of the A-10, but like said here by another, it's a flying tank. The OP is about fighter planes and compairing A-10's & B+52's to a fighter plane and it's intended us, misses the point.
The Mustang, Corsair, HellCat, Saber and countless others were all tough planes...
The S250 fits in all 105's, but will only fit the 101A3 with out wheel well modifications first being done.
In my opinion it's better suited to the 105 as it's pushing the limits of the 101's suspension once fully outfitted...2cents
No doudt the A-10 was a great aircraft, but show up in one on today's or tomorrow's battelfield would be like comin to a gun fight with a knife.
The only way to stay on top is to show up with the biggest weapons and the best trained folks operating them. 2cents

Adding enough rubber hose to the end to clear the crossmember, does save a mess if it overflows.
The other thing I do is put a golf tee in the end of the hose when I park it for any length of time to keep the Mud Wasps & Spiders from building nests in the line. Or sometimes just fold it...

After reading thru this my first impression is and was, you had too much pressure on the bleeder. It calls for between 15 & 25 lbs, but it didn't look like you have a guage to really tell how much you may have been using.
My bleeder does have the guage and it doesn't take much to get to 15 lbs...
I'd almost bet all compressors have key ways, but not all pulleys need them. Better to have and not need it, then need it and not have it senario. 2cents
The pulley on my truck doesn't have a keyway either.
