Turns out, I already uploaded it to the Dodge M37/M43 Facebook group. You can find it here:
TM 9-1826A on M37 FB group
If that doesn't work for you, let me know and I'll put it on a google drive an send you a link.
TM 9-1826A is the manual covering carburetors. Chapter 9 coverts the ETW1 Ball and Ball Downdraft Carburetor with Built-in Governor used in the M37.
I tried to upload it to the manuals section, but the system will not allow me to do so, since the file is too large (32.6 MB)
The last time I...
I'm far from an expert, but I don't tink that top will fit an M37. My M37 with Arctic top is away from home right now, or I'd give you measurements from it.
From what I've heard, the S10 tank is a pretty good fit. It does hold less than the stock M37 tank, however.
I read somewhere that a tank from some model of full-sized Ford van will fit, and has a largaer capacity than the S10 tank. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find where I read that...
Do you have an idea of how slow you want to go (in MPH)?
in 4WD low range first gear, my 91 year old mother can easily out-walk my M37, unless I’m flooring it.
I talked to one guy who makes & sells a few items to retrofit onto M37 trucks. His current project is a turbo charger to work with the 230 engine. He has tried out a prototype. Last I spoke with him, he was not sure if this was just going to be a one-off, or if he might eventually sell the kits...
The stuff wasn't cheap. My recollection is that I needed less than a foot of it.
If you can't find it at an auto parts store, VPW sells "New Fuel Tank Filler Neck Hose" that is 2 1/4" x 7" for $16 which is listed as fitting an M37.
Radiator hose is not recommended. It deteriorates when in contact with fuel. Auto stores sell fuel hose in that diameter, though may not have it in stock. (Unfortunately, I forget what diameter it is.)
I have to agree. I never thought I would see a question from someone looking to swap a smaller engine into an M37.
I'm not sure where you are located, but Ken Holmes in Worcester, MA did a first rate job rebuilding my engine for about $2000. Between all the changes needed to make engine from...
I had heard that the manufacturer stopped making them - or at least stopped making most sizes. However, I did come across this link. I have not contacted them to see if they are actually available, or if this is just a listing that has not been updated...
They are some great trucks. I'm curious about your 6 MPG gas mileage.
When I had the 230 engine in my M37, was routinely getting 9+ MPG, sometimes even a hair over 10, doing mostly 35-40 MPH driving on rural roads and in local villages.
With the freshly rebuild 251 that is in there now, I...
