Your cheapest route will be the GL route. Buy two and use the one in the worst shape for parts for the second. You can recoup part or all of your cost by selling parts off the donor truck.

Here is the fact: it depends whose desk it crosses in the state titling office whether you need the SF-97 or not. I have sent in several applications for title using only the GL receipt and have gotten my title back as quickly as if I had gotten an SF-97.

You guys are forgetting the obvious. The biggest problem with running cable UNDER a deuce when you are stuck is that you are usually buried up to the axle. :roll:
I would buy an M818 truck/tractor instead if you are going to pull a lot of them because the multifuel in a deuce is a DOG. Only 134 hp and 315 ft/lbs of torque. The Cummins in the 5 ton is much better for towing.
P.S. Tie off the steering wheel in the towed deuce because they don't want to...
Trailer should support at lest 14,000 lbs. I would not use anything smaller than a 1 ton dually to pull it with. You might consider investing in a tow bar and driving one truck while towing another.
