Don't do which? The 3/8 or the Synth?
I fully agree with the don't downgrade the size of cable, but I like the synthetic winch line I've got on all my Jeeps. I might even put some on my 936 front winch when I get it put back on. Properly rated synthetic line of course...

Dude, I'm right there with you on the Hot Rod shops... if you think asking for a Chevy part is bad, try calling them about a Ford part. I had to give up on my search for a 4BBL Holley linkage to connect the TV cable for an AOD conversion because if it wasn't Chevy, they didn't even want to give...
I used to work for Cummins, so I know how they are. I will buy the compressor from someone else, but unless I find a parts truck/motor, the rebuilder probably won't have the bracketry, just the pump.

Joe
Can someone get me the Cummins CPL number for the 8.3 in the A2 trucks? I'm going to need the support brackets for the air compressor/ps pump and will most likely have to get them from Cummins directly.
The CPL number is a 4 digit number printed on an aluminum tag riveted to the front gear...
I found a shipper who can pick up the truck on short notice within my target cost so it looks like I won't need to stage it out there.
Thank you to everyone who offered help and storage space.

Joe
jayjay,
I know where there are a couple of hoods with fenders out here, but I'm not sure you'd want to have them shipped to NY.
Chris,
Do you have a part# or supplier for a P/S pump for it? And what was the core on the pump because I don't have one to turn in.

Joe
Where do you plan on mounting the screen so that it doesn't interfere with anything? My CUCV Suburban is getting a Mini-ITX computer set up similar to that but I can't seem to come up with a good screen mount idea where it won't interfere with either the AC vents or access to the 4wd shifter...
That NSN is for the 939 and 939A1
Thanks for keeping your eyes open. If anyone happens to come across an air compressor and PS pump for an A2, I am in need... my computer glitched and I wasn't able to get my next bid in before the auction ended for the engine in a can I was bidding on today :(...
I'm almost 100% certain that you can remove the STE-ICE plug under the dash without any problems. It comes out of the firewall towards the center on the heater side. Just unplug that connector there and pull it through from the inside.
To get rid of the BO light system, make two jumper wires...
I'm going to guess that the diode is blown and therefore shorted to itself, causing the horn to sound since the diode is the only path around the relay. Pull the diode out of the circuit to verify.
Who knows what the splice was for... LOL I'd clean it up or make it a 12V power tap for something...
Can you PM me the contact info for Campbell's? And can someone get over there and find out if the rear tires will hold air long enough to get it to Adam's?
Thanks,
Joe
You can find the wiring diagrams in the -20 TM which can be downloaded from the Resources section of this website.
That said, the wire is black as it runs down the column and then goes into the plug under the column.
It is black when it comes out of the column plug and runs to the horn relay...
Does anyone know where I can find a steering box for my 936A2? Looking at the TM, the steering box was changed from the A1 truck to the A2 truck.
Thanks,
Joe
