I definately would like to upgrade my bumper as well, but being a winch truck even mounting the extra bumper on top, i'm not too sure how well the indicators and head lights will work out
you definately dont want to have to paint after you spray whatever surface you use. I applied nonskid to my steps and painted them. The paint is wearing off pretty quick. Unfortunately so is the nonskid... Sticks to jets just fine :-?
I have learned this myself on a trail rig. I was never dumb enough to use blocks though, I dont see the point in them, they do no good for suspension performance, in fact, they add axle wrap, all for a little extra lift. Drop shackles make much more sense.
My thoughts as well, however if you are doing the majority of your time on the road, I can see where having two sets of tires/wheels would come in handy, the g286's for normal road conditions, and when you are gonna go out and play over the weekend, its only an afternoon to swap them out. I just...

ok, that makes more sense, I stuck with 1/4 inch since I have some tires that this is as deep as I want to go considering current tire wear. Most of the others I could go deeper, but I really dont want to fiddle with a hot iron, and I am too impatient to wait for it to cool each time I grab...
just finished another tire, but as I was grooving this one I got to thinking, how deep are you guys cutting into your tires? I am using the #4 blade and set the depth to 1/4 inch, I really dont see the need to cut all the way down into the tire.
I really dont know why you guys are crying about the ideal iron, I just now grooved my first tire with one, took about 20 minutes for the whole tire, I read and followed the instructions and no issues at all. I used pattern #4 BTW.

I went just green with black trim when I did mine, used krylon OD green, and walmart cheap flat black, the flat black was so thin, it required a few more coats.
I have found my local napa stocks both GL-1 and GL-5 with MT-1 (in 5 gallon buckets even) right there on the shelf, but like others have said it was a heated debate, just read and research and make your own informed decision.
