Geeeessshh.... What a long weekend...
Well up to Orlando I went to give the truck a once over, I was nervous about the whole ordeal!!! It is one thing to do a pre inspection before buying and go over things the best you can to feel as confident as possible and a whole another thing to actually...
I doubt the gauge will blow if it hits 100 psi but the way china builds things today there is always that factor... The original gauges and sending units do malfunction and there was a originally a 0-60 psi gauge installed in M35's.. Later they came out with a 0-120 gauge which is talked about...
Ok some pics... I built the door panels out of 18 gauge sheet metal, there are some details which you cant see like a recess in the back for the door popper and pins in the top to hook into the door v/s screwing it in place so it has more of a factory look when finished. There is a green...
Well I am back to tinkering.... Having the truck released gives some motivation... I expect it to be picked up Tues but this shipping ordeal has not been a fun experience! If your buying a Deuce out of town and you need it shipped make DAMN SURE you have plenty of extra money and SEVERAL back up...
I have been watching auctions for about a year now... Though I purchased a few months ago I really didn't think I would be doing so, it was one of those right time and place deals that I didn't think would happen of finding an ok looking M35 within 300 miles and with a wench for under 2500$...
MSC is THE PLACE for finding new stuff... Sometimes they are pricey but usually its not to bad... Kinda like Grianger, Snap On, Home Depot, NASA, and a few others all rolled into one!!!
Yeah its not a problem to bend just make sure you remember the temper method for the materal your buying...
Well... They must be serving ice cubes in hell today because I got my release information on the Deuce. Im am finalizing pick up arrangements in Jax to have it trailer to a friends shop in Orlando.. I am still 3 hours south but it will give me the opportunity to do a service and check everything...
Yes pressure blasters are far better than the siphon feed models... Some are better than others, some are stubborn about media size and type and the air consumption will generally be a lot higher but the performance is night and day. Just check your compressor out put (cfm) v/s the units...
TY Mudlord... I will keep checking for the other numbers....
G744... If you have an account with Napa and the like the prices are workable. I hear with yer sayin however there is something to be said for being able to drive 10 mins and have a part.
:cookoo: Hops... Barley... and that war cry of WOOOOOOOOOOooooooo will land a vehicle with the wrong tires and lift kit in the damnist of places every time LOL!!!
aua ...... just kiddin!
What Commodore is saying is don't bother using hardener at all he has had great results over the years with out it... The "top coat" reference he is making is the "paint" itself... Usually the term is used when spraying 2 stage finishes like base coat / clear coat...
Im'a thinkin we need a suppliers/vendor page where we can post contact info, websites, email, etc... Maybe be able to grade / rate their service???
*thinkin this don't fit between feedings and diaper changes very well*
... hope all is well with the newbie over there Mangus :jumpin:
Since everyone is to LAZY to post PN's in the cross reference section *HINT HINT HINT*...
Does anyone know the after market numbers for U joints on the Deuce? Any or all... axle, drive shafts, stub shafts, wench drive shaft, etc, etc ,etc?
Here is one of those "evils" I hate to bring up... BUT....
The units that are listed on GL are usually a hell of a bargain if you have a compressor BIG enough to run a pressurized hopper type unit you can pick them up for next to nothing. Some of these units are big enough that you could...
No hardener in a prime coat unless you are using a primer which requires it (epoxy, high build, etc)... With Gillespie you need to make sure your using a SYNTHETIC ENAMEL HARDENER you don't have to buy the PPG brand, a generic will suffice with this stuff just fine and usually save a few bucks...
