Well the 5 ton cargo bed is 14’ long, so with approx 6” overhang on both ends, that makes 15’. So you were sold an incorrect item. Should be able to find someone that needs it and use the funds to buy the correct item.
One reason that the brakes may not release is that the master cylinder piston is not fully returning to the resting position due to sticky brake pedal linkages. Peel back the boot and check.
Ha my GM 6.5 has been like this for 6 years, I keep refilling the coolant every time the low coolant light comes on, this is in a Chevrolet 3500 truck. Runs perfect but smokes a little white on start up too.

Did you guys notice these M34s have the same diagonal gussets at the outer wheel well openings as the GMC M135s? Must be a later production thing, like 1951.
GEP would have never used old GM heads at manufacture. So unless the engine you are looking at has been rebuilt by someone, it should have GEP sourced heads.
