rofl Imagine the size of the envelope!!
He needs it shipped from Grand Blanc, Michigan to New Providence, New Jersey I believe.
If it's in decent shape, I say drive it! I live pretty close to Bishop Airport and could pick you up...crash at my house and head out in the morning...you can't beat...
If you need somewhere to store that deuce for a short time until you can get to it...I can store it for a few weeks until you can make arrangments...just thought I'd offer.
Hey PP, good to "see" you here.
I'd second the semi choice for hauling a full size pickup...I've been as far as the badlands with my deuce hauling my jeep in the bed and it's a looooong trip @ 55mph! I believe a semi will give you a bit higher top speed and probably a bit more...
That was the deal exactly. It always clicked, but most of the time it was only feeding .5 volts or so to the glow plugs......my test light still glowed....dimly when I checked it and the first time around I just assumed I wasn't getting a solid connection and I moved on. This Blazer really has...
Well, no fuel leaks......switched back to troubleshooting the glow plugs again. Got lucky in discovering that the glow plug relay was testing bad MOST of the time. It tested good the first time through and I just happened to test it again and it was bad. It wasn't clicking over about 70% of the...
Update: It quit the next day....drove it someone's house, left it in the driveway for about 4-5 hours, wouldn't start again...acts like it's out of fuel again. (It's not) Chuck suggested maybe an air leak, I'll check for that next opportunity I get. :x
At least I got to drive it for a few...
Geez that'd be a lot of weight for my poor little deuce, but we could get it off the e-way at least...maybe tow it some distance if we took her slow enough......
Paul IS up hunting in the UP somewhere, but he took his pickup truck this time. Your .44 won't be needed here if we need to meet, I've...
I'm in Flint, a little too far north for most of your run, but I'd be happy to help if you're @ all close to me. Since you're driving it back, I could come grab ya if need be from around Toledo on north. (Maybe farther, it's just I have to work 8-8 on Friday) I'll PM my phone number and location...
finally had a chance to look at this.......glow plugs tested good, although I didn't pull any of them to visually inspect them......I then moved to the fuel system since my gauge went south @ the same time it quit.....tried to bleed the system by cranking it the other night....first @ the fuel...
Re: RE: M105 Tow ring flip and other questions.
I second this plan of action. If it's never been flipped, (and the military usually didn't flip them), it'll be stuck in there really tight. Last one my brother flipped on a 101 took him all day to get it flipped! I'd drag it home as is and worry...
That sounds funny and cool @ the same time! "You guys got any ideas on that side of the pond?"
Ah, the wonders of the internet. Happy travels Mark!
Not to sound dumb, but 50% is diesel - - what's the other 50%? If it's gasoline, I'd personally run it through by filling my tank halfway with it then adding diesel for the rest of the mix. That way it's approx. 25% gasoline but you still get a decent amount of fuel for "free."
My brother and I are moving quite a bit of stuff an hours drive on Friday, we'll be using my M35,M105 combo and his M715,M101 combo......we'll have our own parade!! (I gotta get some of those convoy signs one of these days!)
