m1070 no exhaust brake? and A/C?

IIRC, DDEC still uses the switch up on the blower. Could be un plugged or out of adjustment or been removed.

m1070 no exhaust brake? and A/C?

It might be a good idea to make a visit to the TM section and find the TM that has the wiring diagram in it. Again, I do not know the HET, the above is a generic TS guide. There might be electronics involved, like DDEC or a trans TCU. EDIT, Just looked at the HET via Wikipedia. It is indeed...

m1070 no exhaust brake? and A/C?

While I don't know a bunch about the 1070, I do know a bit about the jakes. Some things on that set up to look at, power, like others have said, if there is power, look at the trans lock up solenoid, if unplugged it will not complete the circuit, IIRC it is a normally open switch, you can just...

    M915A1 engine choices

CPL 891 was a Cummins ReCon CPL. It was generated because in order to update the 531 and a bunch of other 400HP engines, like the 614 MVT engine, it needed to be EPA certified. The 891 is just the updated older CPL. Things updated were piston dome, ring pack and placement of the ring set on the...

    The next Project an ASMH

OK, this looks like the final update on the M62 revival!! We installed a Zenith carb, it made the 6602 start better and run somewhat better, but we have had an issue with dropping random cylinders. When the plug is removed, it is fouled. Clean it, re install and it runs fine for a bit and then...

    Manifold studs

Have you tried looking in the parts TM in the Deuce TM section, finding the studs and see if there is a description there then look on line? Maybe some of the bigger vendors, Easter Surplus, Boyce, Memphis Truck?

looking for humvee mechanic on the north east

Smoke. What color? White, black, blue, grey? It is a diesel, so some smoke is normal. Like @Mogman said, change the fuel filter and make sure there is good clean fuel in it. Also, MV gauges can be incorrect. Put at least 5 gallons in it. Does it start hard, meaning does it crank an extended...

    The next Project an ASMH

Yup, that is how I gotta do things like the wrecker now. The big stuff wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the under, climb out and then climb up, then do it in reverse, multiple times stuff. When I first started in the industry I retired from, the old timers would see me do something and tell...

    The next Project an ASMH

Dude, I am ready. The heavy crap is killin' me. I actually gave Jacob all of my 3/4 drive stuff, 7/8 thru 4 inch, Snap On 3/4 drive ratchet head, 24 inch and 48 inch handles as well as all my wrenches greater than 1 1/4 from my shop tool box. I have absolutely ZERO interest in doing heavy stuff...

    The next Project an ASMH

Okay we're getting in the short rolls. This is probably going to be one of the last updates on this Beast. Couple of weeks ago we got a new cable on but the plug that came out of the clevis is not reusable. Turns out they never are because that's the part that deforms itself to lock the cable...

    Another Museum Project!

Just an update on the fuel tank. We have a new cradle. For the most part of last week, it rained here like a cow pizzin on a flat rock. Thursday was the worst. All day long. 5.5 inches. The Tuesday prior, no rain, just overcast and a bit of a breeze. The few days prior, weather was good enough...

    M246 Revival

Also, the OE10mthatt the TM calls for for the crane hydraulics can be replaces with AW43 and it can be mixed. I am gonna assume that the hydraulic tank on your rig is mounted in the same place as the one on the M62. The one on the M62 is a separate part, not attached to the wrecker body, frame...

    M246 Revival

I see it looks like you have the Zenith Carb. Much better than the Holley! If you come across the TM number for the crane, post the number, it might be in the library at the Museum. If it is, I can send it off to the printer for PDF conversion. Will that little fuel pump keep up with the...

    Another Museum Project!

We have a replica HaGo that started life as an M5 HST that was incomplete, no power plant. I think it was Windtalkers, the production co rented it and shipped it off to either NZ or Aus. and repowered it with a SB GM engine and built an all steel HaGo tank body for the HST chassis. It looks...
