I'm 5 hrs from you.
I've got an M936A2 I'm in the process of swapping wheels and tires on, and an M818 that needs a t-case. Neither of these are for sale, but they'd give you a side by side comparison of cab dimensions.
The M818 isn't driveable. The M936A2 should be fine once I get wheels...
Regarding tire change tools...
Here's the ideal set up -
Military issue geared lug wrench.
Large ratchet and 1.5" 6 point impact socket.
Two 20 ton bottle jacks.
Plenty of cribbing.
The geared wrench breaks them loose. The large ratchet spins them off. You need two jacks because you need...
Well, you outbid me to get it... i hope it's seized.
(I'm kidding! I simply ran out of risk tolerance. My guess says it went cheap because there were only four bidders total. One of them only threw the token opener at it. The next one was out at a nonserious ~$200. The only ones who "meant it"...
Having had deuces and 809series and 939series...
And having a strong preference for manual transmissions myself...
There's really a lot to be said for the bigger cab and full airbrakes on the 939s.
Drive both, before taking the plunge. There's no urgency...

The difference in load capacity is a mere contrived difference, not an actual one.
The farmers in this area use 5ton cargo trucks for silage trucks. I had one a while back who needed a couple of 14.00R20s urgently, so I allowed myself to be talked into pulling a couple off my M936A2.
So my wrecker has been sitting on its outriggers for quite some time.
16.00s will lose...
Facing the control panel, it's a switch toward the right hand side down low. It s referenced in the start up procedure. Lift up on it and make it green.
What it does is energize the main output lugs.
Be absolutely sure you have phase and voltage properly selected, and that your plug is...
Agreed.
I went through a similar issue last year with my M998.
I was absolutely convinced it was the lift pump and so I replaced it, along with the fuel filter. That didn't fix it.
Mine was the sock on the pickup in the tank. I don't think the sock is your issue. If it were, it'd run for a...
If nothing else, I see a $1k winch at a minimum.
What you call "recreational bids" , i call "token bids". These are thrown just for the entertainment value of doing so. And yes, occasionally they stick, and create a lot more entertainment.
I'd do exactly what you're planning to do - get it...
Let me tell you a safe story...
I've found all kinds of interesting things in safes, @patracy :) .
I got into safes when I needed a gunsafe in short order and bought some GSA containers at auction. In those days, they slagged the locks before they'd sell the safes and so I learned how to...
