...most I've seen...
Most of the M49/66 ring mounts were used with canvas tops...at least the ones I saw in the 60's thru 80's. Hard tops,as mentioned, were modified at the unit level by northern Guard/Reserve Units. Keeping snow/rain/weather out was not a priority when it comes to defending...
....rats...!!!
Hate to miss this important meeting...but major gun show in Crown Pt. that week end. Business before pleasure....but won't miss the rally in Sep......
....OK....
Little late getting back to this thread, but thank you for the offer and the video. I have to rebuild the winch...an original....and the bumper was just an add-on in the meantime for display. Will probably ask your assistance during the rebuild of the winch...at least for pic's and...
...Welcome...
Welcome to the OD world. See you are from Canada. Do you have the track tool/s to repair the tracks...? If not, might want to look at some older posts about these. There is a gentleman in OH who sold me a pair of track jacks...about $90 (?)@. You cannot separate or repair your...
...good post...
And others should take this as a hint of what should be done. Had a recent power outage...13 hr....and had not kept my 5K unit up-to-speed. Carb was rough and had to do some quick repair...but everyone on our Rd. has back-up gens and power. (12) families on 3/4 mile back...
...more metal parts..
Shown below are the draw hooks..right and left...single tree, grab handle, and the foot prop. Again...any help locating these items is appreciated.
...muchas gracias...
Thank you,gentlemen....appreciate the comments. I'm still looking for a few small metal parts...draw hooks,1 5/16th metal draw bar 48" long, oak wood cross bar, also 1 5/16th", that makes a 'T' so two guys can pull the cart, metal single tree and a couple steel grab handles...
...stell wheels...?
There were several type's of military carts. If you go to M3A4 Utility Hand Cart you can view them and determine the type and era it was used in. WW1 carts were a square steel axle with wood spoke wheels 38" tall. In the period between the wars they used steel spoke and...
Winter project has taken longer than planned, but paint does not cover well in -10 degree cold....LOL. Anyway, these pic's are for those of us who like the old wood convayence's of days gone by. I've learned a lot about WW1 and the guy's who manned the 1917 Browning water cooled guns. This is a...
...found out usage/..
After a few licks at the net, found that this generator was to provide power to the M45/55 quad mount while the half track was not running. Just cleaned the carb, gas tank and fuel lines and checked out the spark plug. Everything looks OK and all seals/gaskets are in good...
....ride 'em..
Between the constant rain and storage problem's...have not had a chance to crank up the APC. Friend who stores it has been keeping batteries charged and starting occassionly. Trying to get woods cleared and graded to store all this stuff...LOL. Takes time and effort...and I'm not...
...in South Bend,IN..
Just 60/70 miles east of Hobart,IN and just south of toll rd. Can supply logistics ,moral support and such....9-5:30PM. Best bet bis to hit the I-94 traffic after 8PM or before 6AM. Have made this trek several times and those are the opportune times. Email for contact...
...have to look..
The title says the same #'s as the data plate...but it's a good chance they all match. The gentleman who restored this half track had restored 8 or 9 previously and had kept this one for himself....that should say something. I'll be checking for this when I get a chance and...
...m172 and m172A1...
The M172 is a 15 ton rated trailer and the M172A1 is the 25 ton trailer. Both are in the same TM. That is a very nice mod to a dovetail. I just spent 2 hr time getting the ramps down and back up to off-load my half track...by myself. Took a 2-ton shop crane and lots of...
...ammo cart done....
Just finished wood/paint and getting leather straps and metal hardware ready to install. This was my 'winter' project'...but hope to complete for the re-enactment folks to see. Believe this is the oldest military vehicle in the MVPA. Anyone have one older...? Think it was...
We honored a 93 year old WW2 vet and survivor of the Battle of the Bulge on Memorial Day. He was part of the 32nd Recon Bat. at Bastone. His unit had Chaffee and Sturat tanks...but used half tracks for recon. Someone heard they had an M16 in his unit,so I was asked to bring my M16 for the...
.....same idea...
Been thinking about doing the same thing...but with an M105 trailer. I'm just wary about welding a pintle hook onto the steel plate...but see no other way to do it. And drilling thur that steel plate is not my idea of fun....
...never again...
Yea...I got the same feelings. I saw Waco and I know Randy Weaver (Ruby Ridge). Local PD knows they can use my armor if necessary...but not for that kind of abuse of citizens. The last time was the Montana Free-men....ATF and the FBI were warned that they had better not do the...
....me too...
You'se guys have it all wrong....LOL. The Knob Creek get-together is for MACHINE GUN SHOOTERS....and gun people. Most MV rally's and MVPA functions are seriously against having guns displayed...at least the couple I've been to. I'll see you there...but I'll be shooting and buying...
