    Brake vent tube?

I do not have a vent line on top of the master cap. It looks like someone put a petcock on top of the cap. There is a “T” fitting in the airline on the cross member. The “T” is open and has about 1” of pipe. Is this where the vent line goes to? It’s almost center of the truck. Unless I am...

    Brakes soft then hard

I cleaned the master. It looks new but there was a lot of junk inside which could have been causing my problem. Refilled with DOT 5 and bled the system. I do not have a vent line on top of the master cap. It looks like someone put a petcock on top of the cap. There is a “T” fitting in...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Update on the Overson lockout on the front tandem axel. I moved the lockout hub from the rear axel to the front axel. With the lockout hub on the rear axel there was spin and tire hop with acceleration from the front tires. Even when acceleration was not aggressive there was spin and hop...

The last rim I am building is a riveted with the dish flipped. I cut the center and added the 3" to the back side of the rim insted of the outside of the rim like the others. PIC is posted above. It should move the inside of the tire out approx 2" to help on clerance when turning. If I can...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

I got one on a stock rim. It was a B**CH and pinched the tube. On the 10" rims they went right on with no problems. I have not turned real hard to the right yet but so far no problems. I have not hit the drag link.

Rizzo, do you have a way to press the tires on the rim and then install the lock ring or just beat the ring on. I tried one and it was a real pain, pinched the tube.

    Tire tread wear pattern

Both have been pulled and dismounted. I did not mark direction but the wear is the same on both tires. I think it was towards the back of the tread. No odd wear on one tire and not the other that would indicate alignment. I did not notice any shimmy in the front. I am going back with the...

I think my balance issue came from torch cutting the outer center and not having a good clean cut.

    Tire tread wear pattern

I put 2 new Firestone Hawk 9.00 20’s on the front of my deuce. I drove it about 3000 miles with the tires and noticed a cupping wear pattern on the tread. Both sides of the tire seamed to wear about the same. Also both tires seamed to have the same wear pattern. What is the cause? Bad...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Rizzo, did you balance your rims? Do you drive it at road speed? I moved the Overson lockout hub to the front tandem axel tonight. Will see how it works there. Will have the wheels and front tires balanced tomorrow and see how it works. I started building one of the riveted rims. Cut the...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Here is an idea on the weights for the rims. This is the same principal as lead clip on weights but permanent. Same thing as how brake drums are balanced. No quarter for reference so how about a chap stick. This is the rim that was 18 ounces out.
