I have not been able to work on it much with the holidays coming up. I have balance issues with the front so don’t want to drive it too much and wear the front tires from the bouncing. The rear 4 rims were from 10 to 18 ounces out of balance. Not bad with torch cutting the centers free handed...
I just widened my rims and mounted 15.5/80 20's. The rims are not hard to do if you take your time. If you could find some riveted rims for the 3" extensions it would look much cleaner and I don't think would have the balance issues I had. Here is the link to my post on how I did it...
RE: Re: RE: It Worked!
Tim, I still think if you can ever get it to pull the brakes will release. If not leave the trailer attached to your truck and use snatch blocks and cable. Pull it with another truck to pull it on the trailer. Make sure you block under the back of the trailer.
If...
Rizzo, are you running the 15.5's or 16.00.
I drove my truck with 40 psi and it was kind of bouncy on the road. Trying not to drive it much until I get the fronts balanced.
Tracking is real close to in line. I will try to get a stright edge and check. I dont have any clean dirt ti drive it right now.
Rear spacing is about 1 3/8". Really close but if I don't pick up a rock it shpould be ok. I have not checked the bushings but have not noticed any movement in...
Balance the rims if you plan on running it on the street. My rear four did well on the road. The front wheels bounced and need to be balanced. I did not balance the front rims before I mounted the tires. My rear four rims ranged from 10 to 18 ounces out of balance on the outer edge and 4 to...
Here is a look with the old style mirror arms. The top stack is just set in with no clamp so it is easy to remove if needed.
The only issue I have with the muffler is that the can gets real hot where there is no insulation inside.
Now that is getting it into the air. I cut my pipe below the mount, removed the upper exhust stack and mounted the muffler. It looks the same as your muffler but the outlet is where the original pipe exited.
I used the NAPA muffler. I don't have a meter but I can say it made a really big difference. The noise I have now is the whine from the transmission in 5th gear. Exhaust noise is not bad at all. I have the solid mirror arms with the old style mirror heads. The muffler clears with no problem.
