15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Right now I have $38.00 per tire for tube ($18.00) and flap ($20.00 used) + oxy /ace gas. The guy at the tire shop was so amazed he did not charge to spin the wheels.

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

I am welding to a stock rim that was not altered so the rim it’s self is true. With the homemade jig / lathe the 3” piece cut close to true. If you have ever watched a stock rim turning they are not exact. Tacking the 3” piece in 4 places kept it close while welding. I took 4 rims to a truck...

    Split Rings (again)

This is how I got my 105 trailer from GL. This is one rim. Compaired to the other one it is not bad. The other rim had almost a foot of the lock ring not seated. The other wheel really scared me so I dismounted it, no pic but it was really scarry. The rings hold really well but this was way...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

I talked to my tire guy and he said 10.00 20 radial tubes would work just fine. He charged me $18.00 each. We will see. I have the front 2 mounted using the 10.00 20 tubes. I found used flaps from 16.00 20's for $20.00 each. The guy that has the flaps also has tires. 395's new for $200...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

What is the distance between the tire and pipe and the pipe and fender? Your truck looks like there is a lot more room than mine. When I put the muffler on I might have let my pipe drop a little.

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Here is the passenger side of the truck with the 15.5’s. There is about 2 5/8” clearance between the tire and the exhaust pipe. I don’t think there will be a problem unless you really stuff the tire. There is still a little over 1" between the pipe and the fender so the pipe could be pulled...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

I wish I would have had 6 rivited wheels. All I had was welded rims so I had to cut them. I was thinking about using the rivited on the front and reversing the dish to help clearance issues with the steering.

For those who have flipped the dish on riveted wheels, did you replace the rivets or weld the dish?

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Ok here is the process I used to build the 10” rims for the deuce. I mounted a rim on the truck so I could turn the rim to make the cut. The torch was mounted on a platform to keep it steady to make the cut. Homemade lathe because I do not have one. Notice the ball peen hammer cutting torch...

    Problem with deuce batteries

Get a load tester and pull a load on each battery. If not a loose conection might be a dead cell direct short inside one of the batteries.

    Not A Lurker Anymore.

Tim........yes,,,,,,,no,,,,,,,,,yes,,,,,,,,,,,no. If I put the M37 in the bed of the M35, do you have a place to unload it. Wife is workng that weekend so I might just come down. I should have the tires mounted by this weekend. Debating on the air pack rebuild. I have the kit for it just...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Idea on front rims. With the larger tires there might be some turning issues to the right. I was thinking about using a riveted rim and reversing the dish on the rim. This will create more backspacing than original. Then cut the inside of the rim and add 3” to the inside instead of the out...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

It will take 12 rims. 6 to be cut and 6 original. If your truck has duels all you will need is 2 more rims. I have one more rim to build so I will take pic's as I go. Could not find the charger to the camera over the weekend, wife cleaned the house. If all goes well I will build the last...

RE: 15.5 I got the tires from "derby". He might have a source for more. We did some traiding to get the deal worked out.

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

RE: 15.5 I mounted the rim to the front hub dished out. Look at the pic’s and you will see a green box / stool what ever you want to call it. Then I mounted the cutting torch to the green thing so it would be steady and not move. Started the cut and turned the wheel slowly. Home made jig...

15.5's wow what a difference W/10" rim build

Started mounting the 15.5/80 20’s. I got the front two on. Wow what a difference. I had to build rims. I was able to get one tire mounted on the stock rim. It took a lot of hammering and work. Pinched tube so I had to dismount it and start all over. I took a stock rim and cut three inches...
